- This is the USMC Silent Drill Platoon performing at Andrew's Airforce Base Open House Airshow on May 19th 2012.
This was filmed with a Canon T1i DSLR which is why the zooming is choppy, the focus is slow, and the video will randomly shake because my arms hurt from holding them still in the same position for 15 minutes. Unfortunetly I forgot to switch to 1080p, this is only 720p.
There was no mess up. They adapted and overcame, no matter the circumstance. Oorah. Semper Fi. Proud son of a US Marine.

A DISLIKE IS DISRESPECT
The Marines carried on even when there was a rifle malfunction. That rifle broke apart because they take a beating being constantly smacked on the ground for days, weeks, months, etc. The Jarheads didn't miss a beat. They accepted the mishap and moved on to complete the mission, just like they always do. In combat, our Marines face life and death mishaps. They adapt and overcome like they always have. That's why they have the fierce reputation on the battlefield throughout history. URah!!!!

Their M1 Garand rifles do not "always break." Not sure why you think that but they do not "always break." And rifles are made to be used as weapons. When you start twirling them and slamming them on the deck all day, every day, and toss them in and out of shipping crates and on and off of airplanes, chances are things might come loose and not be that noticeable to the eye.
They can't handle our INTENSITY.

Even though i saw 2 marines mess up in the first 2 minutes, I still love em!
OK I watched several of the Army's Team and I must say I didn't see anything earth shattering.

This was very impressive. Only things that detracted from the performance were obviously the rifle malfunction already mentioned, but also the soldier (second row, far right) who couldn't sheath his bayonet properly (starting at 13:19) and instead sticks it in his belt.
Still, this performance is fantastic, and I'm very proud to be the brother and cousin of Marines!
You want to make "Snap" which is basicly beating the hell out of the rifle, during a show/competition you will hit the rifle even harder

Can't tell if you're a troll or not, but the M1 rifle hasn't been used in combat by Americans since 1954.
I wonder how the stock of the gun broke off the the fraem of the gun??

Name them and give the footage time number for each.
Stocks are made from wood, years ago. After long time use these will break eventually. Maybe carbonfibre helps.

The Army has many drill teams. Most as amaturish as the USMC PLT shown on this video that has been working together for only a few months. The best drill team is the 3rd U.S. Army Infantry, Old Guard. You can find the video by doing a You Tube search for:

The USMC rarely takes their hands off their rifles, not risking an error. The Army throws their weapons w/bayonets, backwards, high overhead, to the man at the rear of the formation. No errors, no injuries.
Who cares ! You wanted an easy way so you joined the army, and now you want attention, how sad !
Look we're all soldiers. We're better than civilians because most can't do this nor do they want to. Let's just be proud of all of our accomplishments. Besides the Marines wear the hell out of those uniforms even the less than attractive. Go Army! Hanau Germany 90-92!!

The USMC Silent Drill Platoon is OK, but compared to the U.S Army Silent Drill Team they are kind of boring.
