Wonderful music! I enjoy New Orleans Jazz for decades of years!

Three of several reasons why this recording is so good:- (1) the sound balance is perfect. The two trumpets (whose teamwork is superb) never drown out anybody else. For example, we can always hear Craig's clarinet very clearly. (2) Dizzy's washboard work is so sensitive to the developments in the music. For example, note how well she supports those climbing passages in the melody; and note too how skilfully she uses the cymbal at crucial points on the fourth beat of bars. (3) The three string players are rock solid in their support of the front line.

You all are great! I heard you at DBA when I visited New Orleans in October, and I’ve been listening ever since.

I've just read that 'Frog-I-More Rag' was written by Jelly Roll Morton in about 1908, but that he did not apply to copyright it (his first copyright) until 1918. It was named for a young pianist, Benson 'Frog-Eye' Moore, whom Morton had met in his southern travels.
