    Great vid Luke! The Mullet King! FYI the DPI rules for keeping mullet is they need to be alive if under 15cm, i.e. not to be kept frozen as per comment at @4:22..

      Great info the mullet rules can be tricky, I need to refresh on the rules. Ik kept them live and took them out the reef for snapper, kings and sharks. video hopefully up by this Friday.

    • @LakeMacLocal
      @LakeMacLocal 13 дней назад +1

      @@huntersfishingadventures5324 yeah the rules make it hard, max 15cm for 'poddy mullet' which must be kept alive, and then over 30cm for 'sea mullet' that can be kept alive or dead.. Around Lake Mac there is no shortage of mullet.. the commercial guys smash the easter/first westerly mullet run annually (tonnes caught in the channel..) I think DPI could update the rules to make it simpler for us all..

    We used to mix flour and water and put ripped up bits of cotton wool in there, then you can literally TIE the bait on the hook.

    • @huntersfishingadventures5324
      @huntersfishingadventures5324  17 дней назад +2

      0-15cm live bait 30+ for eating, some mullet are fully protected it's one of the most complicated regulations.

    I use those Marukyu ISOME softbait worms in large size and shimano Soare jig heads to catch them in rivers etc. works amazing and you hardly need to re bait.

      I believe the diamond scale mullet and sea have 30cm size limits all other mullet no size limit but I'm not 100% on that.

    G’day Luke. I have enjoyed so many of your videos and have learnt more from your videos than any other place. Thanks for all the info, you have saved me so much time and money wasted on bad info from people who just want to sell a new gadget. I do have a question for you, when you keep these mullet for bait another day do you freeze whole or salt down or fillet and salt?

    • @huntersfishingadventures5324
      @huntersfishingadventures5324  14 дней назад

      Thankyou mate that's awesome 👍. If they are big enough I freeze whole. I generally use them in cubes backbone and all. Under 15cm they have to be live NSW have quite a complicated rules mullet. Seems odd when they net the spawning fish which is where the population starts.

    Maybe the 3 hook rig would help him catch more. Competing for the 3 baits they hook themselves.
    On Broughton I threw a mullet out while I was catching them as a live bait and got a 80cm flathead as well as my bait.

    • @huntersfishingadventures5324
