  • It's known as the hottest, driest and coldest town in New Zealand, and it's because of those extremes that Alexandra, in Central Otago, is a popular destination for national and international visitors. Whether it be during the heat of summer or the cold, crisp winter days, Alexandra has four distinct seasons and is a unique place to visit at any time of the year.

I'd love to live here someday. As an American, ever since I was a kid and learned that the southern hemisphere had reversed seasons to ours, I wanted to experience it. But I was never able to find a place that wasn't very similar in summer and winter until really looking on a map and finding this city. Cold snowy Julys and hot Decembers with flowers blooming in October and leaves turning colors and getting ready to fall in April. So cool!!! 😍
