My very first LEGO set I got for Christmas when I was 5. It’s way better then any of the LEGO police stations that are out now. Nine years later is still stands out in my city.
My younger sisters getting interested in legos, I told them about my police sets, and wanted to show them a video on the ones I had. Makes me remember the good days where I was just playing and didn’t think about anything too serious in life.
It was 2011 or 2012, I was just 6-7 years old, and this was my first ever Lego City police station. One day my dad returned from a business trip in the US and brought this to me as a present. Every time I see it on images or videos, a ton of memories keep coming back to me.
Good old days. These were times where Lego was best. I can remember I got this when I was 6 years old. I still have this set and meanwhile it's beige instead of white😄
@@hielke-gaming7997 This along with the one from 2008 are the best. Everything beyond 2014 aside from Swamp, Mountain, and Prison Island police sets are in my opinion hot garbage.
I remember my dad went to America in 2012 when we were living in turkey, he spent $100 and brought this back to turkey for me to build. That was around 9 years ago and i still have the set in my closet for me to look at and remember my great childhood.
I had pretty much the same experience. I live in Greece and my father went to the USA for work. When he came back he brought it to my as a surprise present. I was very happy about it and it was one of the best memories of my childhood!
I'm also a turk ans a German i know German. And English and Turkish half of my family is in us and Germany The other is in Turkey my DNA is 45 present turk and 50 present German rest is russia and bulgaria
Now this brought a tear to my eye I’ve owned this set for 12 years and just finally had to rebuild it. The music hit so perfect at the end I absolutely loved it
I can brag about me building it by myself when I was like 7, it took me like 3 days of constant building. The part with the Lego box is 100% true for me too..rip
In the 2011 LEGO City Police series, the LEGO company tried a strategy to make these sets more expensive and with less value to increase revenue, because they only just discovered that the police series was really popular. It turned out to be a really bad strategy and at the end of 2011, they actually dropped the retail price by a whopping 30 percent! They then decided to release police sets every year onwards and that proved a lot more effective than jacking the prices up!
Oh wow, when I was a kid I loved this set!! Never tough to buy it then hahah, but I always tried to make the design of the set on my own. Brings back memories, this set🥺
The 7744 Police Headquarters was the best police station, but this one is the most NOSTALGIC. I got the 7744 one when I was 9 because someone sold it used for $65. My parents paid full price for this one at the end of 2014 when i was 4.
This was my all time favorite set when I was little. I was very sad that I never got it. But recently a friend lended me some of his old Lego. I am in the process of building this amazing set now
I remember getting this set back in 2012 and took me 6 hours to build, but later it fell to the ground and instead of rebuilding it, i dismatled it, i managed to rebuild one section only yesterday.
I'm going to be assembling a Lego City using the 2011 sets. I used to have this set back in 2013, lost it because I was a dumb kid... Once I get this set, I'm going to make sure to keep track of everything.
Edit: woah this got long just gonna warn you now Do you guys ever feel that special kind of nostalgia? The one that pains up your heart? Years ago I got this for Christmas, built it, and played with it almost every day. Then, something fell on it and it broke. I still cry thinking about it today. I never rebuilt it. I never forgot about it. It’s one of those feelings where you wish you could go back, but you can’t. It’s as if you just want to watch yourself, over and over again. You’d be fine with the memory, with never being the one experiencing it, but a third person view is just what you’re looking for It’s that odd feeling where, if given the opportunity to go back, you’d take it in a heartbeat, but at the same time would hesitate. Like it was meant to be. Like it is best left in the past. But you’re still not happy. You want it back. 8 years after getting the set, 7.5 after breaking it on accident, I’m finally deciding I want it back It’s a similar feeling with the 2012 Dino sets, really. Or the early 2000s power miner sets my brother owned. I imagine my/that person’s childhood, the innocence, and think, “what if that innocence was returned?” I imagine that I’m a kid again, building these sets for the first time. I didn’t know how to keep legos safe, so all of my old sets broke, left in the past for my old self to remember. But that doesn’t do it justice You think, “how could I just leave this behind? How could I forget who I am?” You set off on a quest. You rebuild what was broken. It seems surreal, like a dream. It’s better than you remembered. It’s more than you remembered. It’s you. If you think about anything that you loved dearly: a lego set that you spent hours with only to cry for longer when it broke. A friend that you cry just thinking about. Anything that affected you as a person, it brings this effect to me, at least. It’s a feeling as if you’re missing a part of yourself, and you wouldn’t give up everything you have to see it again, but you’d still give some things like money. Basically, it’s a feeling of nostalgia that isn’t saying, “oh that was fun 8 years ago, I should do that again sometime.” It’s more of a, “I need to rebuild this, this is a part of me. It is me.” It is a feeling I rarely feel, but it hits hard when I do. This set is a great example of that. EDIT: I have almost entirely rebuilt it now, save for a few decorative stuffs and mini figs, and i am really happy
i wish that they find back to the baseplates like in this video or the Creator Expert Buildings!! Its a long time ago, that City Buildings like Hospital, Police or Fire Dept´s are made on Baseplates like this one!!

If Lego had a HoF, this, the 1970s space sets, and a few other iconic ones should be in it.
My brother tried this and he made the station backwards so it’s at the end of the 2 big grey platforms

I still have this police station at home, I bought this 10 years ago.
Good because the prices are really high
The background song is very similar to the song of Know Your Tears from the weekend, just follow the lyrics with the rhythm.
