There will be complaints about the noise. And the Lucky Rock will have eroded to a moderately fortunate pebble before the 1525 finishes its mono-directional printing marathon.
I'm surprised at how quickly and fully this channel wormed my way into my heart. Who knew a channel about old technology would be so addicting and alluring to watch? Years ago, It would be safe to say that I would've been bored of stuff like this. But now, the slow-paced, relaxed sharing of information is better than anything I could ever ask for when just wanting to take a break after a long day of work. Or in this case today, getting over a very inconvenient cold.
And even worse most of the electrical donations they do get go straight in the bin due to liability concerns or absurd rules that mean they refuse to accept (and therefore throw out) all items from specific categories (computers).
Ahhh the radio 4:32 is the same one my parents used to have in their bathroom. Had to retune it across the UK once when our car radio was broken. Memories :D
A VIC-20 was my first thrifted item. Between that and this series, I've grown to love sifting through piles of junk for those random gems. Most interesting find so far has been a book of logarithms from the end of the 19th century which was kept aboard a research vessel that served Canada in WWI as a local scout ship.
"It looks like some guy was into blizzard and then suddenly hes not " man the timing of this video is ironic XD i know you record these ahead of time but your timing with that is just to spot on with all the blizzard drama
Yay, finally another thrifting video. It's one of the things that made me stay, always thrilled to see a new episode. May not have been much loot this time, but the printer is a cool find, with it still being wrapped and practically in mint condition.
"It looks like they have fleshed out their media section a little bit more since last time" 7:23 as he pans over the The Complete Human Body 4 CD-ROM set. :-)
Watching these videos conviced me to go buying in pawnshops and flea markets, it's been an experience getting old games and some other things for cheap! Thanks a lot, Clint!
Love how you say they 'fleshed out' the media section while zooming in on the Human Anatomy software (complete with non-fleshed skeleton on the cover!)
Never clicked on a video so fast. I just love LGR Thrifts!!! This is by far my favorite series on the channel. When I first came across LGR, I kinda binge watched Thrifts. The amazing intro with the music and the clicking and the legendary "Let's go thrifting!", all those stores which kinda look alike but then they don't, the lucky rock, the favorite (and then former favorite) Goodwill, the puns, the editing - oh Lawd, those were good times indeed!! I hope there will be more in the future, that'd be so awesome...!!
It appears that the "wood" section had the Napa style wood crate CD holders. If they were actually Napa brand, I would have grabbed those for my personal storage, but they can also be re-sold for about $10 each. I still lack an original NES, so yellow or not, I probably would have gambled $15 on that unit. I recently did a project with film negatives where a lightbox would have come in handy. I paused your vid on the CD sections and strained my eyes trying to read the spines to no avail... I look for gold audiophile discs, imports, early target cds, and other rare titles, but that's one of my things. Nice find with the new old stock printer.
Planet fitness knowledge man here- the corporate overlords were intending on employees wearing these hats on and around New Years to upsell to members. Turns out in my town no one wanted to wear them, so they were everywhere for awhile.
A clinic I go to has a gas tank thingy (sorry, English isn't my first language) in the same aesthetic by the entrance for some reason, it's really cool!
I have and use a Waring of about the same vintage (not as nice, though; all buttons, no knobs). It's fantastic, I like it better than a similar Osterizer I had.
I don't know why as I've never been to a thrift shop, but watching this video just flooded me with nostalgia. Like I've been in a store like this 20 years ago or something. ...hell, maybe I have.
Watching LGR Thrifts is like a combination of Yoga and porn, nothing really gets the dopamine flowing like a soothing voice discovering interesting outdated technology. So lets pour a fine wine, hit play and lets go thriftiiiing
It has been rough out there that is for sure. My channel was once all about thrifting and I would be lucky to post a video every 3 months now. Used to be 3 times a week almost.
A couple years back, I was fortunate enough to see that Viper prototype in person at the Councours D'Elegance of America in Plymouth, Michigan. The car showed a ton of wear (by prototype show car standards), like rock chips and wrinkled/discolored leather. It was clearly used and enjoyed by untold dozens of Chrysler engineers and executives back in the day. That made me smile.
AAAA these thrifts videos make me nostalgic, there was a while where i would wake up, get my morning coffee and watch these vids! great to see there's more coming!

Exactly what I was thinking 😂

I was like.... That was a rather prophetic statement!
Hahaha
Topical.
LGR thrifts is my favourite series.

Every time I go to a second hand store all the electronics are broken or garbage. I don't know how Clint has such good luck.
Wait, you're favourite isn't Grand Illusions? What's wrong with you?!?!?
Gonna have to vote for LGR foods....
Glad to see LGR made it ‘cross the pond
"Someone was into some blizzard things... and then they weren't."
Prophetic.
It's almost like they knew.
amazing.
This was posted yesterday.
I wonder why? 😂

There's just something so... relaxing about LGR thrifts.
I second this. It makes me feel like I'm having hot cocoa on a winter's day in my childhood home.
I’ve actually used these thrifts to help me sleep 😁
@@S-CCCC Yeah - it's the jazz DJ voice, no doubt.
It's like sharing stories with a best friend over dinner.

"Somebody was into some Blizzard things, and then they weren't"
Very apt comment these days...
some of us were snubbing blizzard BEFORE it was cool
I would like to upvote but it is currently on 69. I hope you understand.
For me Blizzard died after World of Warcraft.
Kairu Hakubi I snubbed blizzard when they released cata, haven't played since lol minus tbc private servers. :p
Blizzard hasn't been the same after WoW. And Activision.
“Maybe I can go thrift more next year” 2020: lol good one bud
Disney: Star Wars The Rise of Skywalker is the biggest cinematic event of the year
Clint: *LGR Thrifts Episode 43*
I kept noticing Star Wars stuff in the background - like four or five shots!
I refuse to believe I live in a universe where a viewer found a friggin' Commodore SX-64 at a thrift store! Incredible!
Really not that hard to believe. I've town some good game scores at Goodwill.
Why not? 🤷🏼♀️
I swear LGR's house is going to look like that old computer store in Texas by the time he retires...
Computer Reset?
“On this Mo the episode of LGR thrifts, I’m going to explore my back bedroom.” - Clint soon probably 😅
"Maybe I'll get to do more of that next year" Oh Clint, oh 2019 Clint you sweet summer child.
LGR Thrifts Australian edition: “I went to every thrift store in the entire country...they were all terrible.” The end.
And even worse most of the electrical donations they do get go straight in the bin due to liability concerns or absurd rules that mean they refuse to accept (and therefore throw out) all items from specific categories (computers).
You can still find a few good things at Salvos, etc. Old PS1 games. A Nintendo 64, small and large appliances. Reasonable furniture sometimes too.
I’ve been somewhat lucky at Salvos or Lifeline but obviously nothing as good as the Goodwills we see here.
Theres only 2 right
In Australia you usually find older PCs in E-Waste/Recycling Centers.

Thrifting isn't drying up. You just make it so elegant that everyone is doing it now. You inspire us all. Thank you for all you do.

Thanks LGR for everything you do, its really awesome

Wow, I had that exact book as a kid. Was a trip for me to see you thumb through the pages.

I had one of those clavinova pianos many years ago when I was taking piano lessons. Wonderful little E-piano.
That pulse generator would be an instabuy, might not be too practical for synthesis but that look!
Love the soundtrack of these thrifting videos. So soothing
