I remember that time 1994/1995.. I was only 12 and experienced the brutalness of Karachi police first hand.. we were stopped, slapped and kicked for being Urdu speaking in our own city for no ties of being in MQM.. just a kid who happened to live in the area surrounded by MQM.. that state ruthless attitude made us love MQM and support MQM.. Thank God I left Pakistan right on time but it seems like nothing have changed in Pakistan now they are treating PTI like MQM... Pakistan Army is the cancer of Pakistan.

Sad to hear about Faheem Farooqi, he was an intelligent & brave person who would've done wonders for the country if he had not fallen into bad company.
We are lucky to not have lived in those times or we would have met the same fate.
the end you'll have in future is decided by the decisions you take today, Faheem took wrong decision to be in bad company. Many of his neighbors decided differently and still living. Karachites should admit the reality of being used for political gains. MQM is still doing the same for many decades.

trust me in 2011 i came from canada because i had a nervous breakdown..it was when osama bin laden had been "killed"..i was already a marijuana smoker and grower..once i became slightly mentally stable i started hanging out with company who were aquainted with whatever is mentioned in this video..when that company left karachi and pakistan, their aquainance tried to lure me in because they had seen potential..trust me in those two years i had completely changed but thank god that company kept me away from going too deep..i used to see everyday how young lads were pulled in.

I was a resident of North Nazimabad block N street no 12 near the green home bus stop.Remember the rise of MQM in the late 80s especially when in 1988 elections were sweeped by MQM by massive margins.I was a strong supporter of MQM becuse we were Muhajirs, as well as the voice that MQM gave to the massive community who were deprived of basic rights especially the Quota system which to this day is so so unjustified against the youth of Karach.
I remember i was in class 1 era 1994 & 1995 very bad times for karachi citizens Allah never comes those days again in Karachi

Thank you so much for covering the story of Faheem. I lived close to his home but had never met him. I played cricket with his brothers though and they were really a shareef family. Police used to put up wanted stickers all around the neighborhood with Faheem's name and picture. But the Police didn't have his picture so those stickers carried picture of an old man in 50s and everyone used to laugh at that. It was widely believed that 2 brothers of his family were tortured to death in front of each other by the agencies. That happened few days after the incident in which an informer of agencies who tried to infiltrate Faheem's group was identified and was killed on the spot with a full burst of bullets.
Was a resident of North Nazimabad Block M. Witnessed so much more than this in my childhood. Still that haunts me. 😢

Great effort. This video made me realize that the youth has always played the role of being a pawn in the hands of these politicians. Altaf, PP, Nawaz and now IK. Blind faith never brought anything positive.
