One of the best final battles in Transformers history. For as many faults that this show has, this episode-long fight between Optimus and Megatron in the former's Optimal form made it so worth it!
The old Transmetals weren't more powerful though, Techno-organic Optimus Primal was able to fight evenly with Transmetal 2 Megatron in Beast Machines, whereas Optimal Optimus was easily defeated by Transmetal 2 Megatron in Beast Wars. Megatron made a new body using the Optimal Optimus design, but it wasn't actually the same body. @@BingBong67489 I think Beast Machines TM2 Megatron is weaker than TM2 Beast Wars Megatron even without a second spark. The reason why I think this is because Beast Machines Megatron was significantly deformed from his attempts to purge himself of his Beast Mode without transferring his Spark to another body. So Beast Machines Optimus is combating against a weakened Megatron even without a second Spark. Another thing about Optimal Megatron is that he wasn't fighting Optimus seriously. There's something surprisingly terrifying about Megatron in this state. I don't know if it's the face or the fact that its a form we've seen previously that's a combination of Primal and Prime. @@acemarvel1564 it's not self repair, megs spark were soo mutated it can basically attach any random limbs he can use as weapons and even used a dead transformer body and turned it into a zombie. In the case megs mutated sparks can repair the damage at alarming rate and fast too.
Something else to add here: considering how much Megatron wrecks shop in Primal's old Transmetal 2 Optimal body here, why are some people still wondering how he was able to take over Cybertron with an even stronger body in his Transmetal 2 Dragon form???
Admittedly, I might be overthinking or incorrect, but a couple of questions/arguments I've seen are: 1. How the hell did Megatron beat the Maximals back to Cybertron when he fell in the opposite direction of the Transwarp portal? 2. What virus did he even use on Cybertron's population, and how did he get it or make it?
I mean, this is a damn good fight--easily one of the best these two ever had, and that's saying something. ...But the fact that Primal is constantly outmatched by his previous body just kind of highlights how much worse these fancy new Technorganic bodies were than the Beast Wars models, which I can't help but feel is a great metaphor for sizing the two shows up overall.
not really optimal optimus was always a supream power house even by beast war standards the only one i can think that was better was the tigertron and airasor hybrid
I was so pissed when everyone lost their transformations, but when Megatron took Optimus last body (Optimal Optimus) I almost stopped watching the show I was so angry. I was mad at Optimus for losing his body at the beginning of this series and Megatron for taking it. Optimus and what was left of his group had shitty bodies compared to Beast Wars. It didn't help that Rhinox was evil too.
plus you cant blame primal losing his body he was litter was out number out gun and they had means to take him down because you know megatron would make sure he can stop there biggest power house. also the body megatron use was a replical so you tech take primal body it just he copyed it because it was one of the strongest during the beast wars
What beast machines lacked is as follows: 1) the proper back story with the transformation virus 2) the reason why the oracle preferred the organic bodies for the maximals instead of their beast wars versions 3) lack of New characters...which is both good and bad However, being darker than Beast Wars was better cause it showed the seriousness of the battle despite Megatron having the #s advantage for the entire series. The maximals were forced to use tactics that they normally wouldn't use just to survive, which was uncommon for the Autobots in the 1980s g1 series (even though the comics stated otherwise)
The transformation virus has enough backstory to work out what happened though they could’ve been more overt at times and some extra details would’ve been nice. The Oracle converting their bodies was to make them techno organic down to a cellular level in a way while before it was more like their skin where beneath they’re still mechanical circuitry, helps that the form grants immunity to the virus

That body is alot more usefull and powerfull when used by Megatron. In BW, Optimal Optimus only looks powerfull for 1-2 episodes and then he's easily beaten afterward. Also, he almost never use his beast and truck mode in BW.
He was too OP in BW the writers admitted he had to be toned down as the season progressed.
What's really sad is that the Oracle meant for the technoraganics to be the next step and along comes Optimal Optimus to smash.
No wonder they nefted him.
@@shadowednight1600 To be fair, the body of Optimal Optimus was created when Primal fused his own spark with the spark of Optimus Prime, a Prime who carries with himself both the Matrix of leadership and the essence of Primus the God of creation, No even the oracle can macth that kind of cosmic power, specially a power that was born from the spark of a Prime and the Matrix itself, is like compring a Magnun with a Tank

There's something surprisingly terrifying about Megatron in this state. I don't know if it's the face or the fact that its a form we've seen previously that's a combination of Primal and Prime. Megatron wants to enjoy his victory for a while
@@darkazon5343 Yeah, Megatron even said something to that effect just as this fight started, IIRC. That portion of dialogue, as well as quite a few other parts, were cut to make this video.
Indeed, simply winning wasn't enough for Megatron, he wanted to crush Primal completely by making him watch the last organic parts of Cybertron wiped away, so he was essentially his own undoing.
The only episode of Beast Machines I liked was literally the Final Battle...worth it.
Optimus looks like he was truly terrified of this megatron
Megatron is using Optimus"s his own body against him...of course anyone would be terrified AF.
Beast Machines Megatron was the single most disproportionately strong villain that any version of Optimus had to face short of taking on Unicron all alone.
I think we can safely say anyone would be a wee bit scared of his capabilities and sheer determination to get what he wanted.

I just finished the series in full despite my reservations. I actually ended up enjoying Beast Machines more than I remember. I'm still upset with the tone that they took and not making the characters behave the same as beast wars, minus their voices . This fight though - was probably more epic than any fight in beast wars to be honest. Never seen optimus do any backflips, but he had such style when having this epic battle with Megatron. Megatron is super scary in the optimal optimus body.

I gotta admit this final fight between Optimus primal and megaton was amazing
Yeah. Their fight starts at the megatron's base the grand mal continued on the streets of cybertropolis and even underwater and ends in the oracle's chamber: the maximal base.
If Optimal Optimus gets made into a masterpiece toy they should give the option to remove and switch out his face with Megatron’s face.

@@TheRisingStorm316 I too agree. But it's a huge shame I lost. Did you see how close I was to victory?
Optimum prime's beast machine body is actually pretty powerful...despite only having one real attack. His energy blast appears pretty destructive.
They made Optimal Megatron better than Optimal Optimus. For one thing, Optimus could never fly underwater during Beast Wars.
Something else to add here: considering how much Megatron wrecks shop in Primal's old Transmetal 2 Optimal body here, why are some people still wondering how he was able to take over Cybertron with an even stronger body in his Transmetal 2 Dragon form???
Admittedly, I might be overthinking or incorrect, but a couple of questions/arguments I've seen are:
1. How the hell did Megatron beat the Maximals back to Cybertron when he fell in the opposite direction of the Transwarp portal?
2. What virus did he even use on Cybertron's population, and how did he get it or make it?
@@johnnygyro2295I don't know about the first one, but I saw a deleted BM script where it was said that Megatron stole a virus from Cryotek.
*Children, it's doesn't get any more late 90's than this. Specially the music.*

What beast machines lacked is as follows:
1) the proper back story with the transformation virus
2) the reason why the oracle preferred the organic bodies for the maximals instead of their beast wars versions
3) lack of New characters...which is both good and bad
However, being darker than Beast Wars was better cause it showed the seriousness of the battle despite Megatron having the #s advantage for the entire series.
The maximals were forced to use tactics that they normally wouldn't use just to survive, which was uncommon for the Autobots in the 1980s g1 series (even though the comics stated otherwise)
Here is a plot hole I only recently thought of: Why have no human allies come to investigate what has happened to Cybertron?
@@jsweatt354 because humans thought autobots doesn't need them
The transformation virus has enough backstory to work out what happened though they could’ve been more overt at times and some extra details would’ve been nice. The Oracle converting their bodies was to make them techno organic down to a cellular level in a way while before it was more like their skin where beneath they’re still mechanical circuitry, helps that the form grants immunity to the virus
@@jsweatt354 Maybe the human race already went extinct in beastwars time. Transformers can theoretically live forever if they have an energy source. Humans need too much.
@@Kira22558 More like the humans would be in serious danger of being squished or vaporized in the crossfire of a potential scuffle or by a rogue Decepticon, something no Autobot would willingly risk. That and, correct me if I’m wrong, but doesn’t Cybertron have a toxic atmosphere?
Same old Predacon Megatron. I like him better when he had his dragon beast mode.

Delta p is when a pipe under different pressure underwater bursts and the pull sucks you into it.
