  • Srinivas Gowda last week broke the record for the fastest Kambala race in the history of the traditional sport of the southern state of India. Srinivas had run 145 meters with his buffaloes in just 13.62 seconds. 'India’s Usain Bolt,’ screamed television channels after local newspapers reported the record-breaking feat of Srinivas. 145m in 13.62s = 100m in 9.55s, 0.03s faster than the fastest man on earth -- world record holder and decorated Olympian from Jamaica, Usain Bolt. The approximation was made by several high-profile names on social media. From business tycoons to noted politicians, quite a few celebrities wanted to make an Olympic champion of Srinivas Gowda. Sports minister Kiren Rijiju jumped the bandwagon. Rijiju, responding to the viral tweets, said the government would make arrangements to offer a trial from the top Sports Authority of India (SAI) coaches to Srinivas in Bengaluru. In This Lallantop video we talking about how we as a nation lacks the basics of sports. Rather than trying people like Rameshwar Gurjar, Srinivas Gowda at SAI we need to develop a sports culture, where our kids can learn and become as good as Jamaican Athletes.
