This is most certainly from the 1920s. Conrad Veidt only lived in Hollywood for two years on his first stay. He made four American silent films before returning to Germany. The first was The Beloved Rogue (1927) against Lionel Barrymore, the last was The Man Who Laughs (1928). His first film back in Germany is Das Land ohne Frauen (Land without Women), it premiered in Berlin 30 September 1929. Emil Jannings also returned to Germany in 1929.
This footage is from 1927-8 in one usual reunion of some of the foreigners working in Hollywood, most europeans but also the mexican star Dolores del Rio.
AWESOME footage, especially when I came only expecting to view the beautiful, the one and only Greta Garbo and never thought to see Dolores Del Rio here, in flapper garb, but what was that on/near her left cheek, a big birthmark or some veil attached to her flapper's hat? So I guess both these actresses starred first in silent movies and then evolved into talking movies? Thanks for sharing, liked and now...."I vant to ve alone". ;)
I AM FAN GIRLING SO HARD RIGHT NOW SEEING GRETA GARBO AND CONRAD VEIDT IN THE SAME ROOM TOGETHER AHHHHHHHH🖤🖤🖤

Love black and white movies.
Época de ouro. Época magnífica. Momento maravilhoso.
Saudades enormes.
Dolores del Rio era Preciosa
15/3/22
Yes, she was.
12.15.22
Jannings doesn't show much form on the tennis court! hahaha
Conrad Veidt looks pleasant here - not gaunt oily & evil like in Casablanca.
or like in cabinet of dr caligari
Who is that woman just look a like Drew Barrymore
I thought so too!
Dolores Costello?
What is that big black thing on Delores Del Rio's face? A mole??? Seems HUGE!
Not a mole, ffs! It's a detail, an ornament, in the front lace net of her elegant hat. 👒
Greta Garbo is NOT in this home movie.
yes she is, that's her with the lil girl 2:03 to 2:15
@@bonniewep and playing ping pong too
Yes she is! 1:20 - playing ping pong then again with a little girl from 2:04
