    I like the use of chains to link the displacer to the beam. It's simple but it works.

    What a very nice stirling. I like the displacer - water jacket - very much. It looks very professional.

    Fantastic engine ,,,, love the engineering that's gone into it,,, and it looks as if Abbie is a first rate firelady ,,,,

    Great job, and I like how you used a Propane cylinder for the firebox, top scores mate.

    That engine is a work of art. I would call it quite steampunk but there is no steam. :-D

    Вот это я понимаю аппарат. Зачётный Жирный Лайк. Очень грамотный расчет на длине коромысла. Длина имеет значение для передачи энертности. Bravo maestro. Like

    Elegant, soothing motion which is rather relaxing to look at and to see that young lady interested in the beauty of engines, well it is rather encouraging to know that the silence and invisible functions that goes behind engineering is being transferred at an early age. To think that it is engines like this that started the increase of the comfort of life reaching most families. All people are now seeking to have all the available comforts of life which past philosophers failed to deliver.

    @haxenophon Hi thanks for the comment, the power pistons on this do not have rings just two small grooves to help to hold a little light oil around them.They where turned from aluminium to fit the brass tube cylinders.

  • @GoingtoHecq
    @GoingtoHecq 3 года назад +1

    It does seem that the flywheel is too large for this engine, and the working pistons seem very small. Those things together it seems like this engine has very low horsepower for its size. It might be able to work much faster and with power available to use with at least a smaller flywheel.

    Wow.... very impressive machine. I have built a much smaller single cylinder stirling engine and was always wondering how one is supposed to seal the power pistons in more scaled up machines like yours? Do you use piston rings?

    Hello, this is a nice job, but i don't understood what for Abbie put water in there, could you explain the water please ? I know that Stirling are hot air engines.

    • @pablochernakoff8208
      @pablochernakoff8208 6 лет назад

      Sorry my poor english Giorgos Tselios. Stirling engines work by diference of temperature between high and bottom of the hot cylinder. And the cold cylinder makes the strength. I hope this brief answer your cuestion.

    • @JustinTopp
      @JustinTopp 6 лет назад

      Cools them of better making it run faster and longer because they run on a temperature difference

    Very nice engine! Since its such a big machine, have you tried to power something with it, or generate electricity from it?

    Соотношение рабочего объёма, в этой большой модельке из подручного хлама, к общим габаритам, удивляет. Но как моделька, аппарат смотрится прекрасно.

    Abbie is very helpful. She saves you a lot work, :) Nice motor. Have You tired to hook it to a water pump or another work application. ?? maybe a generator. It sure would come in handy during a power failure.

    Any idea what power output this has in watts?
    Ive been thinking about building one recently to trickle charge car batteries for off grid living :)
    Ive already made the gas bottle wood burner, so now I have to work out how to make the engine!

    Wow no noise, if you could balance the power with the noise and power up something useful, it would be a win win machine.

    what is the clanking noise ? the engine or someone in the background making noise ?

    I see so many people building sterling engines that do nothing! Well in this case it’s polluting the atmosphere. Don’t get me wrong. I like the sterling engine and I believe combined with todays technology the sterling engine will make a comeback however, if they just become this “thing” that we just want to look at, what is its useful purpose then?

      Yeah the 200 or so engines that rarely run are totally destroying mother earth.
      Maybe this hobby isn't for you.

      I agree that engine builders should aim higher with more powerful / useful designs. But people are still mesmerized by the basic demonstration.

    You could try to increase the pressure in it with a simple bicycle vent and pump. That would increase the efficency.
    Great work though.
