That, my friends, was a perfect visual demonstration of a Primary Feed tree for the general area. It's entirely selected by the deer and will last until the acorns play out or another better food source replaces it.

I have sat 1000's of hours in the Missouri big woods....seen a lot of deer and killed a few good ones. Ill be there every fall for as long as I draw breath....watching those ridges! Awesome video Aaron!

Hey everyone at THP, this might sound INSANE but I almost never considered deer hunting until your channel! I watched all those big time shows of hunting and it put a bad taste in my mouth but you guys are FANTASTIC! I love how in depth you guys are on the hunt. Was wondering though if you could do a video or go into more detail on deer/turkey sign on what's old/new,(new or old rubs, scrapes, hoof prints, etc) and how you usually find them. If you have videos on it already I'll watch them. Gonna promote your brand and buy some merchandise keep it up!

Great breakdown of why you chose that area. You guys seem to always hit the nail on the head. Very good filming Aaron. I could only imagine how Gooch would’ve been just tore up over you not shooting as the video you done in I think Iowa earlier this year when you let that giant buck walk. He was tore up worse than you. What it’s all about. If I ever lose that experience I guess I’d hang it up. NC loves THP videos.

It makes me chuckle sometimes watching videos from other parts of the country and you end up using the same tactics in all parts of the country!!!! I live in Maine and our woods would all be considered “Big Woods” as compared to Missouri and we use exactly the same tactics up here for our deer. Find a good saddle in a ridge line or between a few Mt peeks the look for where deer would be bedding (for us it’s usually high ground) and then look for an area that’s been logged and has either new cuts or 3-5yr old cuts (takes the place of crop fields in mid west). These cuts provide the deer their food and edge ground and the high ground allows use of wind convections and easy escape routes (one jump gone). Find good vantage point, get comfortable and sit until you get lucky enough to connect two point in the woods and shoot your buck!!!! Love to watch your videos!!!
