- Plenty of cooking shows make it look like the chef is preparing a meal right in their home kitchen, but this is rarely the case. Most of them are simply on a soundstage that is designed to look like a kitchen, but there are some exceptions. Ree Drummond, host of The Pioneer Woman, films her show in “the lodge,” which is just a few miles from her actual home. In fact, it’s in this kitchen where she does pretty much all of her work, so what you see on her show is more authentic than on many cooking shows. Let’s take a look at the real reason why the Pioneer Woman doesn’t film at home.

I've been to the lodge several times. It is beautiful and a fantastic experience. I'm glad she wants to protect her loved ones and their privacy . People are crazy.

I visited the merchantile and the lodge owned by the Pioneer Woman.
It was very enjoyable and I’d recommend it, although it’s out of the way. I traveled there from NY.

They seem like a great, hard-working, old-school yet modern family. I particularly noticed that their kids were always polite and usually right there in the trenches, learning the ropes.
I’ve been there! Went to Pawhuska, the Merc, and the lodge. Had lunch at the Merc. It was delicious. We met a delightful gentleman, Mr. Drummond, who is a cousin. He has law offices there. Such a friendly man! A truly fun experience!

I just adore the Pioneer Woman. I feel like she is family. I feel close to her so much. I have watched her for years and years watching her kids grow and Ree and her husband in love. I just love love this family.
I'd love to do the tour and get a pic in front of the cooking area. I always have FoodTV on at the crib, so I'm very familiar with the show. Imma fan. Get Well Ladd.

Ultimately, she's a smart & a multitasking lady considering raising a family, 2 degrees, running a business etc. Im NOT a fan but I'd just rather see these types of celebrities who can teach us the value of home cooked meals, sanctity of marriage & family and teaching kids basic things in LIFE! 😜🏆🏆🏆

My sister was a faithful fan. She loved the Pioneer woman, and her products,and cooking shows.Phyllis died four months ago. You were a great joy.

So sorry for the loss of your sister. My kids father died just before Christmas last year 2022. It was a shock to me. We were divorced for years and it was a complete surprise. He died unexpectedly. I knew my ex-husband since the 8th grade in the 1960s.

I think that's good, so that when she is home with her family she can relaxed. Try her hash browns, eggs 🥚,bacon in the over in the muffins pan, it's delicious
In the early days, the PW did photograph her forays into cooking in the kitchen of the small house on the Drummond property. There was a photograph of her kitchen sink loaded with dirty dishes and the caption "keeping it real". Then, when she made a bit of money, they built "the lodge". She may have had a replica kitchen area built to keep the filming seperate from her family life.

On FN shows they encourage you to talk about your family. Makes you seem more real, likeable
Sounds like so much jealousy and sour grapes. You know very little about this woman and her family. They work hard for what they have. They have brought life and jobs to their town. They are a lovely hard working family. Put the green eye monster in a box and close the lid.

Sunny’s recipes are mediocre at best. There’s many other food network stars who cook so much better and have fantastic recipes and ideas and sunny falls short - it has nothing at all to do with her skin color and everything to do with what kind of person she is and how ppl view her, Which I’ve noticed she’s been seen less and less lately due to her dry personality- she’s just not food channel worthy - everything sunny makes is out of a box - low quality nasty looking food as well

It is awesome! It is huge and beautiful. There is the kitchen that is the set for her show, another kitchen basically right beside it, and a very large pantry. There is a gigantic living area with a large fireplace that is open on the front and back. Down the hallway, there are four hotel quality bedrooms and at the far end of the Lodge is what I would call a huge industrial kitchen and huge pantry. Please watch the tour video. My 9 year old Granddaughter loved it and so did I.
