Dude... Darker Still hits hard, but seeing it being created hits even harder. Such an amazing song. Such an amazing album!
For real tho
Darker still is my fav album of 2022. The whole album is amazing. The song darker still is a god damn masterpiece. The guitar is beyond amazing
i agree the leads have a dirty bluesy sound to them
@@ant6662 You haven’t listened to The White Stripes
modern-day stairway to heaven / nothing else matters
@@martah93 No. Not even close 🤣🤣🤣
@@rossmusic25 are you here to just disagree with everyone?
Thank you to the conductor. Its nice to hear someone who understands so much goes into Heavy metal. instead of hearing heavy metal is just "Screaming"
The song Darker still speaks to the depths of my soul… honestly kept me alive the last few months
darker still is the song of the year, amazing.
The whistle is definitely great again. Been bloody walking around whistling that tune for a month now - its so friggin catchy.
This album is sick. I know it's miles from Horizons but it really doesn't matter. Early Parkway, new Parkway, they're different but they're both great. It doesn't need to be one vs. the other, we can just love that this great band is still around and still making great music.
well said!!
Yeh dude I’m hearing you. I’m not loving this album but it does my head in how people complain when bands evolve. Id rather them
Evolve away from my interests then just turn out 20 albums that all sound the same. Ire was a huge step away from what they’d done to that point and it’s one of my favourite albums they’ve done.
@@dbo4506 at first this album felt like one of their weaker ones to me but it's really grown on me the more I've listened to it. It's catchy but there's also a fair bit of depth to the songs. That's just my opinion though. Everyone is gonna like different things, I'm just glad Parkway is still around and still making music.
@@Sabin41 totally agree
I wish I felt this way. Just not a fan of anything after Atlas. I keep coming back hoping they drop something that gives me the fleeting feeling that Deep Blue gave me.
This is by far my favourite album, and "Darker Still" is my favourite song of this year. You guys are absolute legends!!!
something wrong with you if this is your favourite lol
@@bestpingau1699Indeed... I think I might have a case of: "amazing taste in music"... Dunno... Maybe that's a good problem to have....
@RJ Phoenix I'm gonna guess you're a new fan of PWD because the soft radio rock style theyve been doing lately is far from what they used to be.
Parkway will always hold a very close and dear place in my heart.
How this doesn’t have 200000 likes is beyond me. Thank you Parkway Drive. You are my motivation every day in the gym since I started back. Crazy shit is that day I started was the first day I heard them.
Not everyone's fav band is PWD
Masterpiece! Every album from this MUSIC HALL OF FAME BAND IS AN ABSOLUTE MASTERPIECE!! PERIOD.....THEY WILL BE IN THE HALL OF FAME!!
Hearing those snippets of isolated choir / orchestra is amazing, I'd love to hear those isolated sections in full
Darker Still is such an awesome song. The melodies burnt in my brain when i heard you guys live. And the layers you put together is probably the best composing i heard in a very long time. Pls keep doing those experiments, they sound f***ing amazing. And the orchestration is totaly right, metal can be highly energetic and expressive and very complex on melody. From close to none, to parts that sing themself.
I love this album. The energy that comes out of every song moves me in one way or another. I can't wait to see you guys in February!
For me. Best 2022 album.
Masterpiece Album
Epic song and album!
The conductor is like many people I've met in life that don't realise metal music is more than yelling and noise. I've said many times to people , have you actually heard or listened to the lyrics. What the song is about, what it's saying. There's alot of meaningful, powerful music out there. just need to give it a try and listen.
Every orchestral part, seeing that all being tracked, is so mesmerising. Top work all around - to the band & every musician that worked on the record. Stunning efforts all around 🙏
Best album 2022
Dude , you guys killed it with this song. So many different styles and vibes in this , in the beginning I hear a Dire Straits type Rift from Brothers in Arms. The whistle is so Like Scorpions Winds of Change, and so much of your style! Drums that make you float , they lift you up, Guitars in your style stand lone. How you added Orchestra too, And your lead singer is walking a path all of his own.
Dark is good ! The darker the better! More like Darker Still!
this is far beyond an "regular" Metal/Metalcore Album and i love it to the core.
Im not sure i would call This metalcore, i dont know what genre it is, Idk Why people hate on metalbands changing their style, bands evolve their music change. This is by far the best metal album released in 2023
The new album is amazing and absolutely ass kicking! 🤘🤘🤘🤘 Thank you PWD for another brilliant album.
Das Orchester, der Chor und die Frau, die pfiff- super Zusammenstellung 😍
A song always in my playlist
this was easy amongst my top 3 albums of the year! just a work of art. and seing how they did it at least a small glimpse of it is just awesome!
So good!
I Love this its so amazing to see the behind the scene of how each song comes together. this whole album is a masterpiece.
Darker Still and The greatest fear... 🔥
Wow what a band! Each time they put their new albums on a level higher!
Damn when the choir sang "in death we all sing the hymns of nevermore" gave me chills.. Epic song
this is so cool to see what goes into one of my favorate albums of 2022.
That studio looks so comfortable.. I could live in there
This album is awesome in every way. Thanks for not standing still. ❤
Amazing album, guys. My favorite of 2022!
Hands down a killer album. Music has to adapt, and bands have to make changes to stay relevant. If you ask me, I think Parkway Drive did just that. Fantastic job guys, can’t wait to see what comes next!
6:53 gave me goosebumps
Darker still is my personal favorite in my heart, soul.
This album went so hard, can't wait to see y'all in march for the first time. Loved this video as well btw
This was awesome guys allways a treat to see some behind the scenes
My favorite band... ❤
Eff yes on the whistling.
ребята гении, спасибо вам за вашу музыку, она вдохновляет меня !!!!
Parkway drive killed on shiprocked when I saw them in January and now I will finally see them at AFTERSHOCK!!! Sacramento Ca baby!! who is going ???????????
Its a EPIC Album.
Парни, считаю этот альбом лучшим в вашей истории. Такая не обычная, узнаваемая музыка. Для меня Darker Still вероятно лучший альбом в этом ебучем 2022 году. Надеюсь когда нибудь вы сможете вернуться в Россию
This album was the coolest thing that happened in 2022, my biggest wish is to see you guys play some of the songs live... My favorite part is that "hoo-haa" in "From the heart of the darkness"😅🔥 pretty killer ❤️🤘🏼I love you guyys, now and always ❤️❤️❤️from South Africa 🇿🇦
This album has quite frankly changed my life significantly. It helped me to dig deep and find the strength to overcome some heavy challenges while at work. This album has played a vital role in a revitalised me👌
Hell yeah, man!! 🎉
Parkway drive literally outplayed slipknot at knotfest Melbourne, it was an amazing performance. Energy was next fucking level. Amazing band live 🤘🤘🤘
5:00 Nice, Remscheid is my hometown✌🏻
This is awesome, thanks for sharing!
The choir and orchestral parts gave me fucking goosebumps
Love this.
More of this!!
Great job guys.....
Can't wait to see u in September.🤘
I'd like to see more studio stuff! Great work guys!!🤘🏻
3:18 Jia didn't even play the bass on Darker Still? And on the previous records? I never realised he was no official member unter their Getting Heavy documentary
Parkway Drive is a fine wine, just getting better with age. Love you my boys.
Viva the underdogs!
Y’all are legends!
Can we please have more of these? 🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺
Such a masterpiece!
My 10 year old daughter absolutely loves "Darker Still" song and has played it on repeat on Alexa for hours at a time (no joke). So much so her mom has had to come in and say "Alexa off". Every time I pick her up and I'm playing Darker still album she says play "Darker Still" song please.
Great album!
Please come back to Kansas. I had vip tickets to see you guys and TBDM. That show never happened sad 😞
although i'm not able to really get into the album that much, it's really cool to see their vision and willingness to try new things.
& the album is a bomb 💣🔥
Never knew it takes so much work to record a single track on an album
I think it's kinda sad that they didn't include Jia during recording...the guy has been in the band long enough to be called a member
In the Australian Story documentary Jia told that he finally got accepted to the band as a true member instead of an outsider.
Also heartbreaking story about his love. Really recommended watch.
But you're right. Didn't see Jia in the video. Maybe this was before he was needed or they made him an actual member.
They’ve spoke about this many times before, Jia is a full proper member of the band but they don’t use him on record as he’s not that good of a bass player, so they use Jeff so the record sounds as good and a professional as possible. No disrespect to Pie, it’s just a well documented fact that he’s not a very good musician and doesn’t know how to contribute much to song writing.
@@2201clewis The fact that people don't challenge this assumption is wild. The guy has played Parkway tracks for over a decade...it's not like he's just picked up the instrument. As we learnt, there was a more business related reason for his repeated absence in the studio.
Lol, they recorded the Symphonic Stuff in my home region😊
6:11 Is that our favourite Chaotic Ginger Dumpling, @Julia_Nilon?
Masterpiece ❤️🇬🇪🤘✊💣💥🔥
Fkn luv you guys!
6:50 Literally one one my favorite thing about choirs. Dimmu Borgir murders this kind of stuff as well.
We want a symphony orchestra concert!
F I R E!
🤘
I didn't like this album when I first heard it, I thought it was to soft for Parkway. But the more I listen to it I was wrong this album is one of there best.
🤘oh the best
🤘🏻
This album was an absolute masterpiece!
Really?
You obviously have the footage. You should do a Documentary about the making of the album and the tour after it. Similar to Metallica's A year And A Half in the Life of Metallica. Would be awesome to watch
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Jia doesn't play the bass on the record?! Only live?!
3:05 what song it is?
Imperial Heretic
@@drz400rider00124 Thx
7 minutes is much too short. I’m already craving more 😅
This video showed them agreeing a lot, but the ABC documentary made it pretty clear that wasn’t how it went for a lot of the writing and recording process….
I love you
Come back to NA
It should be playing live with orchestra
song at 3:12?
whats the song at 1:03?
It could have been way longer
Still think it’s shitty how you canceled the tour that seems to have led to the demise of Trevor in some way shape or form. Could’ve been a bit more professional about it. Now I’m not saying that is the reason. Clearly that’s ridiculous. But it’s curious timing and surely didn’t help
Pie like has 0 enrolment in the writing process which sucks
The new "Gothic-Arena-Dad-Pirate-Metal" sound they've been going for since IRE is hugely triggering. Yea it may be more commercial but damn These Riffs Sound like a fourth grader wrote them. Usually, musicians progress with every album. More Budget and huge orchestra doesnt necessarily mean originality. It doesnt mean progress in modulative Fantasy, creative rhymths or Enhanced technical abilities. Horizon was their musical peak imo. We get it Parkway, you can sound like vikings. Get back to your roots asap. Just because you guys are getting gray, doesnt mean your riffs have to rust.
melodies in this song are great but the clean vocal is far from good, unfortunately
I'm not a fan boy or fan girl, older Parkway is the only Parkway for me
Unmake it.
Kinda not possible so deal with it
Am I mistaken or is that Julia Nilon at 7:27 - the redhead on the left?
It is!
I love seeing this. It gives you a deeper appreciation of the work that goes into making such a great album.
