Just wanted to say I think your videos are very well composed, informative, concise and overall AWESOME Prof. Grabowski.
In fact they have served as a constant source of inspiration for me. (especially at the moment due to the current weather.)
I'm unlikely to ever formally attend school for journalism. I'm 42 yrs old and grew up working construction/landscaping. But I've always had a lifelong love of Literature and Storytelling. (Mark Twain, William Faulkner, Ernest Hemingway, John Steinbeck, Stephen Crane etc etc. so..The Classics primarily.)
Your videos have done much to demystify the process for me and I intend to start practicing soon.
One of my fatal flaws is that I have an unfortunate (reader-of-classics-inspired) tendency to use five words when two would probably suffice. So that is going to be a barrier for me.
Are there any modern journalists you would recommend checking out in order to gain insight?
I am NOT politically oriented to any great degree. I try to be fairly objective in that regard. Or, as much as possible at least. So I don't really care about any particular political leanings of the author(s) so much as ABILITY.
I like Marshal McLuhan (of course) and have a begrudging respect for many of Walter Lippmann's ideas. (as cynical as they may have been, much of it seems plausible.)
So far? I've got to say you're my favorite though.

There are two elements that must dominate every televised news program, a well written script and a head of hair dye. Take away the well written script, only the most astute will know it was lacking, but the hair dying, that’s another matter, even the brainless could see it if it was defective. Consequently, the most important room adjacent to the television studio is the make-up room. Its as if consumers of televised news are only watching is to gawk at the beautiful looking people and if a little journalism can be had at the same time, that would be a plus for the viewer and the bottom line for the network, after all its primary objective is profit not journalism, that has become a sideline, as a way to a means if you will.
