Conference Championships should not be a factor in playoffs past auto bids. rankings should be frozen the week before conference championships. The only thing that would change is if you win and get an automatic bid.

Too many "experts" are basing their rankings of SEC teams based on previous years teams. Alabama just isn't that good. Alabama could lose to Auburn. Mississippi does its late season slide, after looking so promising early in the season. Maybe give more credit to ACC and Big 12 teams. Maybe they deserve a second team in the play off.

Earlier in the week people were stating that ALL of the 2 loss SEC teams SHOULD make it into the playoffs.
Alabama now has as many losses as the top 4 Big Ten teams, combined, and all of their losses came against each other.
Yeah they always use the trusty " the SEC beats itself up" as you said the top 4 B1G teams only have 3 losses combined and all from each other yet the we beat ourselves up sentiment doesn't apply to us, instead they wanna talk about how a 3 loss SEC team that may lose another game and can't even compete for the conference ship should get in over other teams with 2 or less losses that can win a championship, make it make sense.
There is soo much more parity between the top/bottom of the big 10 and the top/bottom of the sec.

They should definitely play if their rank says so. This isn't a goal to keep the sec teams alive as long as possible. The rank is the rank. You play where u are. But we all know espn will have a hand in making sure all the sec teams are far from eachother until they can potentially reach the later rounds.

Conference Championships should not be a factor in playoffs past auto bids. rankings should be frozen the week before conference championships. The only thing that would change is if you win and get an automatic bid.
