Merry Christmas Neil, Jessie, and John. Hope you guys have a great Christmas all and all. Thank you for your links. They were extremely useful Neil. This ridder looks to be perfect for Jessie seeming new tires on it for her would be wicked. :)
You did a basic wiring video a whiles back and it inspired me to do one on a project mower of mine. Always good stuff, informational and to the point! Great video and the ol mower is looking sick my man! Blessings and respect!
That sounds amazing I completely redid a vanguard in a simplicity broadmoor it had nasty oil goo in it I completely stripper it down to the block and cleaned it 3 times with the pressure washer and degreaser soap that engine ran so good once done I sold it because the transmission was beginning to wobble tue axel so I got one while it was good lol
Taken care of the Vanguard will out last the Intek. On the other hand you can build power cheap with an intek that do to head design you will never get out of a Vanguard. But a Vanguard will normally turn way more RPMS.
@@AUTISTICBLOGGER_steven not that I've seen however all you need to do is either plug the hole the solenoid threads into or shorten the plunger on the end of the solenoid so that it cannot block the passage
Airflow for cooling does have a direct correlation to engine life ,and an Intek leaves alot to be desired. That's why 6-7yrs ago, they changed the 49 cube Intek to a "810cc professional". If it says that on the blower housing , swap the blower housing! 2 benefits : gets rid of that "batwing" leaky air filter housing ,and the plastic blower fan is about 2x the height of the original. Swap over the tin also from the later model, it all swaps over. Still though, the vanny is the premium/professional engine and the Intek is a weekend warrior in comparison. That blower housing from the professional series(new Intek) swaps onto any 40/44/49 intek.
Man , I got this vanguard 18 HP that cranks off gas poured in the carb , but won't run a lick otherwise , do you think if I pull that fuel shut off solenoid out I'll be able to see it actuate when I put power to it because it acts like it's not letting any fuel by. Pulse pump is good.
Question about the kill tether.. Im repowering a small skidsteer with a 18hp vangaurd.. I tested the output on the small bolt on the side of the motor yesterday.. it gave between 4-13 volts output between low and high engine rpm's.. Can i use the same bolt for both charging the battery and killing the engine? Or will it create a dead short back to the battery when i hit the kill button and burn up the charge wire? Happy Independence day !!

Have you ever made a four wheel drive tractor
What is your opinion on the strength of the vanguard motor compared to the intek v twin

@@redneckcomputergeek do they make the aftermarket carburetor for a vertical shaft vanguard with the deleted solenoid

The fuel shut off solenoid was froze up I trimmed off the tip and the engine started right up running on its own fuel tank, Thanks
