    Out of all the videos I've watched on turn up cuffs you are the ONLY instructor that addressed how to avoid the puckers! ❤ Thank You!

    I never thought to adjust the taper to accommodate the turn up. This makes so much sense. Thank you!

    Thanks so much for sharing the wealth of knowledge your experience has given you. I recently started learning a bit about tailoring when I began working for a Jos A. Bank location. I had only been there a few weeks when we lost our tailor on short notice. I took it upon myself to learn how to do some of the alterations to help out the store, and now think I might have received somewhat of a "battlefield promotion," so to speak. I will absorb all this type of mastery and try to put it all to good use!

    Thank you! Have never realised I should be using the full length measurement, and why, and explains why some of my efforts didn't work out so well. Will now do this, and also resolved to only make cuffs on straight trousers to avoid issues :). You are an amazing teacher and I appreciate you passing on your immense knowledge. (Added later) Armed with this new knowledge, I've just cuffed a pair of overlong good trousers, and they look amazing, thank you very much!

    Thank you for pointing out the pitfalls! They are so obvious, yet I would have not 'seen' them until I had tried to make the seams fit....now I know to split a bit at the bottom to make it fit. You are very smart!

    Hey Mr. Jim,
    Thank you for the videos on hemming, they are incredibly helpful. I would like to request a video on how to properly make a "military hem", that is, a slanted hem that's shorter at the front and longer on the back. I can't seem to find any tutorials online on how to do it.
    Many thanks,
    Duff

    How do I get the correct measurement for a pair of pants that already cuff with the measurement of 46 inches from waist to cuff and all of the new pants measure the same length from the waist to the cuff?

    • @JamesMcFarland
      @JamesMcFarland  7 лет назад

    He's using the word "area instead of width". Confusing. Also using the word "fold" for bottom length. Proper word usage would help a lot.
