Aspiring Costume Designer, this is a lovely dress and I am definitely going to try my hand at making it! For those who are struggling, I made a few observations that I hope help. For the pattern of the dress pieces, it looks like ACD is using a basic circle skirt pattern, but with the opening at the top being for a neck piece instead of a person's waist. So if anyone is struggling coming up with the skirt pattern, search out a basic circle skirt tutorial and you will learn how to find the circumference and ratio, etc. for the pattern pieces. ACD has shown her own measurements for the length shown, but that will differ from person to person so you will want to decide for yourself how long you want it to be. I wouldn't arbitrarily go with the numbers ACD used unleash you are sure you want a dress of that length. I'm not 100% sure about the neck yoke, but I have a feeling that it will become clearer once you have the front and back done, so as to connect the two sides. When creating the U shape I would suggest using a French curve, as they really help a lot with making curved shapes. Beyond that, I don't know what to suggest to those that are struggling. I am going to try this design out and I will share what I learn along the way. ☺️
@@AspiringCostumeDesigner Yes! I was there in 2016 and it's one of my favorite cities in Europe. It's absolutely beautiful! The statues looked familiar.
I didn’t understand also. What’s the size of the section of the circle? 1/4 of the circle? Then the 15 cm of the u shape, and how to draw this shape, it’s not clear as well. I wanted to make this dress but the instructions are a bit confusing…
Nice but I was stuck at stage 2 with the collar bit. Didn’t understand the measurements . Is that collar 6 inches long, across or top or bottom? How do you make pockets?
The collar pattern I made by copying an existing garment, but if you pause at 1:49, you can see how to construct it. To the first notch (where it will join to the front panel) it is half of the width of the top of the front panel. Between the two notches (where you don't sew anything, because that part rests on your shoulder aka. that's the armhole) the length is 6". The last part after the second notch is the width of the top of one of your back panels. And the whole thing is 2.5" wide. I really hope that helps, I'm trying to explain as best as I can, but it's hard :( For pockets- if I remember correctly- I used Bernadette Banners "How to Add Pockets to Pocketless Skirts & Dresses" video.
Pretty dress but you showed your cat and nature pics longer than the measurements…. Would have been more useful to focus more on these important parts of construction

Beautiful
Ooh la la ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Will you please give the measurements ?I am a beginner and found the cutting part too abrupt.
Pause at 1:26 and 1:49 and read the measurements provided on screen, and hopefully that will help you.

Hi, maybe this can help you? ruclips.net/video/8p1lbacg-jE/видео.html
Do you have a link for the background music?
Please check the description.
How did you get your radius please I have been going back and forth can't seem to understand
The radius of the dress? It depends on how long do you want it to be. Knee length? Midi? Maxi?
Wow!
How much yardage for a short lady?
Where do you get the pattern pieces?
Do yo have the PDF so we can print out
Благодарю. Делитесь по секрету всему свету,пишите пожалуйста мерки, что откладываете на ткани. Учить пожалуйста у азиаток без болтавни и всё понятно.
