- Despite its slight inconveniences, Cuba is a highly addictive travel destination. Due to its history as a Caribbean Soviet satellite nation under the weight of the U.S. Economic Embargo (El Bloqueo) Cuba has a unique feel. Since the dark ages of the special period of the early 1990’s, Cuba has relied on tourism to fuel its ailing economy. Due to its late start in tourism, Cuba is far more inexpensive that other Caribbean island.
I'm 28 years old, from afro cuban descent. Mother arrived in Miami from the Mariel in 1980. She was 15 and left two siblings due to them having different dads. my family in miami goes to Havana every year to drop off goods and spend time with our family in since the bulk of our relatives live in Havana. I HAVE A BLAST THERE (I speak fairly fluent Spanish though). I've been to a lot of countries but Cuba makes you feel like a king on foreign land

@@kushseti8842 they generally aren't starving they are just sick of eating chicken every damn day. The real issue is the lack of toiletries and hygienic items (Besides the economic one). No problem feeling like a King just don't be stingy and everyones happy

I’m in Havana right now (1st day) & was watching this video. In the middle of watching the video my tour guide from earlier came knocking at my air bnb door & wanted to do the business with me. These videos you make are definitely helpful on navigating these women here. It’s more different navigating the women here than in any other country. She also kept talking about marriage and I just couldn’t do that for obvious reasons. I definitely have a heart for the people here and what they’re going through.

Probably the best way to avoid is to try and keep fairly even coverage of other countries rather than promote just 1 country. I see you've kinda done that with your channel.

Love your videos. I still have family in Cuba, my mother is Cuban. I would love to help the Cuban people but I will never set foot in Cuba. My grandfather saved his family from the Castro revolution,he left first in 1960 then with much difficulty found a way of bringing his wife and kids to the U.S. then Puerto Rico. He worked hard to give us a good life. He was an excellent example of strength and perseverance. My grandfather and grandmother missed Cuba every single day of their lives but vowed to never return and give Fidel or anyone associated with him a single penny after what they did to our family. During the revolution the Castro regime took everything my grandparents had and tore the family apart. Those things may have happened a long time ago but I still remember my grandmother crying while gathering medication and money to send her family in Cuba . I remember all of the stories my grandfather used to tell me. So no Cuba for me. To me it’s a symbol of loss and sadness. Not a place to take advantage of because of the dire situation the whole island is in.

People resort to side jobs to make ends meet…. Smh
When i was in Cuba people like carpenter etc. earned only $5/month.
It was nothing even then in Cuba, so everyone had to do some sort of a side hustling just to make ends meet.
I learned a lot about Cuba's hidden economic system during that trip. People were constantly exchanging whatever stuff they might've had to whatever the next guy might have on offer in exchange etc. and eventually everyone was at win-win situation. It seemed hard work for me but for cubanos it was a necessity to survive so complaining wasn't taking them anywhere.
And ladies did whatever ladies always have done since the dawn of day when life gets tough.

Almost everyone has a side hustle/ relative abroad that helps out. Laborers that do side work make pretty decent money for the scale. One job can cost $100. Simple example, a carpenter will usually charge $100-150 to make and mount a door.

I stayed in Cuba for $20 a day (For a Month). Not in vedado but about 10mins away. Definitely SUPERRRR affordable. Thanks for helping nuestra Raza in Cuba. You should go find American Students studying Medicine in Salvador Allende. Municipio Cerro. Detras de la Covadonga and do some interviews with them.

Technically no... Only Cubans can own property. You might be able to look into the process of migration though.... I'm sure they might accept you with open arms.
