I got a Steam Deck OLED because I was going to be travelling for work for several months and obviously couldn't take my desktop with me. First thing I did with the device was ride a train all the way across the country, a 3 day trip in a sleeper cabin with my Steam Deck. Was able to play a ton of games and it was an absolute blast. The Steam Deck is such a good device and I can recommend it to anyone. Especially the discounted refurbished units, they're SUCH a good deal right now
Emudeck is the greatest thing ever made. Screw anything else. It sets up everything for you and is so easy. I love playing all the retro games I never beat when I was young
@@antonjalowy4143 brother, you are not going to brick it by setting up emudeck lol just follow a youtube guide and you will be good. It's super easy if you just do exactly what they do in the video. You don't really have to know much about what you're doing and if you mess anything up you can just factory reset the device and be back to square one. Bricking isn't really a thing with modern electronics unless you're really doing something you shouldn't be and Emudeck isn't in that realm so you're totally safe.
Dude. I was deciding between a Steam Deck OLED and a ROG Ally X and your videos were the deciding factor. I'm loving my SD OLED. I feel like I would've had buyers remorse if I went with the Ally X for some reason.

You’ve got a distinct approach that keeps me coming back for more. Just keep doing your thing, and I’ll definitely keep watching. I think others will too, because authenticity like yours is hard to find.
Same here. I’m not a creator though. I’m loving this channel also. Regarding the console, it’s definitely going to be my next console, instead of the ps5
@@ElisBuenas82A PS5 is simply just a bad purchase. If you want a desktop/TV console, buy a similarly powered (maybe even more powerful) PC. You’ll even be able to pirate your games to save a crap ton of money and play older titles that are unavailable on PS5 if you’re into that. The Steam Deck is an amazing purchase.
I'm an airline pilot and use it all the time on layovers as well as when I do my 3 hour commute flight to go to work or go home. One of the best purchases

But if you like tinkering, it can become a Type R as a lot of new possibilities opens up for you: emulation, non-Steam games, hell even using it as pc with dock keyboard, mouse and external display. It is a PC after all and as long as you want to try what else it can do and can follow one of many tutorial how to do it a large set of new possibilities just opens up for you. When you are done. It just feels like it is a lot more than just a Civic hence the Type R comparison.
as both the SD OLED and Type-R Civic owner, no. with all the limitations on both what titles you can play, and how low the performance is, absolutely no. the Ally X has VRR and windows, and the performance to back it all up. that is a Type-R, not the Deck Oled.

I'm considering buying a ROG Ally Z1 Extreme, connecting it to a dock, and using it as my desktop PC, while gaming on my Steam Deck. Best of both worlds.
Nice video, dude. You might want to add game titles in the bottom corner when you show gaming footage. Just to let people know what they're looking at. Keep up the good work! 👍
I just appreciated how chill and honest the video felt. Felt like having a genuine conversation about it. Something about the pace of it really made it easier to follow/listen to. Hope you can record in another thunderstorm, that "Performance" and thunder was so ominous lmao
For me, I waited till the ally x came out since a friend wanted to get it and another already had the oled. What convinced me on the oled was the display. There's just no comparison. I'd rather spend less time looking at a more beautiful image on the oled than care about longer battery life or slightly higher performance on the ally. I feel like a lot of people forget the display part even when upgrading their pc. A monitor upgrade can bring new life to every game. That's what I felt comparing the two.

it fits very good to your hands. less fatigue because of the weight. playtime 3-4 hours enough to find the next powersource waiting for a steam deck 2 which i hope looks like: amd z2, 32gb, 2tb 2280 ssd, wifi7, oled 144+ hz, transparent case

I have a Steam Deck LED and OLED. My son and I love gaming on these. They also make great desktop computers for my use case. My PSU died on my main rig and it's been holding out for me. I plan on getting the Ally 2 depending on reviews and I'm going to slap a dualboot of Bazzite or SteamOS and Windows 10 or 11. Only getting a Windows partition because I'm very impressed with AFMF 2.
I like this style my dude, it’s something unique. There is no shortage of tech RUclipsrs out there so I was surprised to find someone with a style of their own not trying to be the next MKBHD. Might have convinced me to sell my OG LCD Steamdeck and upgrade to an OLED.
I want to get a Steam Deck for this exact reason. Its reliable, its clean, its convenient, it does everything it needs to do and it has so much support from both Valve and the Community. It just works.
@CyberDopamine I know brother. I actually watched this video last Tuesday and then went onto my steam app and purchased the 512gb Oled. Your videos are great brother keep it up
Great informative video, showing a lot of nature in the background made for a cozy video and that thunder was amazing. I'd like to see the name of the game on screen when showcasing a game
great video, I do wish I had the OLED screen. I have had an LED steamdeck since launch and this thing is as you say, a honda civic, just reliable af. Recently though I got a GPD Win Mini (2024) and I have to say it's the first non-steam deck handheld that converted me, like I love it so much, especially for the ability to throw it in a bag and not care. I did install Bazzite on it.
Exactly, it is reliable and comfortable. May not be the most powerful, the most pretty shinny or the versatile out of the box handheld out there but you feel somehow secure because: "it just does it well". And sometimes less is more.
Just giving some feedback I really like the vibe of the video, plus the outside shots feel very refreshing! Maybe figure out better the lighting on those but that’s nitpicking.
I love the idea of taking it to work and playing between breaks. Lol. But I get what you were saying and appreciate the review. I know what handheld I want now.
There are a few things that made me buy a steam deck OLED after buying a legion go: 1. Legion go Battery was just not good enough. I was only getting 2 hours, 3 hours at best on games like blasphemous. 2. The fan noise was unbearable to me. No matter what you're playing, no matter how light it is, the fan is running. That's not the case for the Steam Deck. I can play ps2/gamecube emulation on SD and the fan isn't even running! Not to mention, the battery lasts for 5-7 hours! 3. The LCD. I've been spoiled by OLED screens. My TV, my phone, my tablet are all OLED. It's just hard playing anything that has black in it. 4. The Speakers. Top firing weak speakers. They have to fight the fan noise too which doesn't help. 5. No proper refresh rate switching and frame rate caps. It's like the people developing this gaming device (or the people in charge) don't know about gaming. Only 60 hz and 144 hz? This is not a VRR screen so you need to cap the frame rate. At least give me 120 hz because that works nice with most games which target 60 fps. And a 40 fps cap@120hz is really good for battery, but we don't have that. All of these are features which the Steam deck has. Maybe not 120 hz, but the frame rate switching and fps cap on steamOS is godly. Wanna cap to 45 fps? It automatically switches to 90hz. Cap at 40? It automatically switches to 80 hz. Just beautiful.
I was sold on the video when you compared it to the Honda Civic, it killed me, but yet reasonable... (Man, I should've waited because I bought the refurbished model that Steam was selling a month before the OLED was announced... )
Cool video man! I have the LCD 64GB SD and totally love it. I was thinking about upgrading to OLED but after thinking it through I don't need it. I'll just buy the Steam Deck 2 when it comes out.
Your videos feel just like when you drink a big cup of coffee on a rainy day while playing lo-fi beats on the background... I really this so much more casual approach vs what other youtubers do (like super geeky guys that talks tech terms that not all of us are super familiar with while in a gamer set up) The natural calmness on your voice and how you emphasize on what you want to highlight is just such a refreshment With that vibe bro you could definitely talk more about other devices (like that onexplayer humongous handheld) and even maybe creating a second channel where you talk about your gaming/traveling experiences Since the first video I got completely immersed and I'm always watching and waiting for what's next Btw nice LLG videos. I was about to buy one but I had to stop myself since I'm getting out of a little debt. Maybe in the future who knows? Maybe some other handheld PC comes out and I'll definitely want you to talk about it Keep your videos just like this I feel like you have your very own format and style brotha Saludos desde Mexico (translate that little brotha)
I know the steam deck isn’t going to play everything I want because of performance/optimization requirements of some games. But with most games I want to play, this is more than enough. I’ve decided to hold off on my pc build and just buy the oled deck for the mean time. New gpu season is right around the corner, anyways. Plus I’m probably not going to make the most out of my custom pc since I’ll be busy. Cool video, btw!
One of the things I love about it is, when putting it to sleep, there is next to no battery decay. Tried this with the Switch, and found how much the battery still drops overnight. Not the case with Steam Deck.
I have the LCD model, I have no idea how I'm going to replace it with the OLED, but I'm hoping to do so some time in the future. Assuming Valve doesn't somehow come out with another handheld that surpasses the OLED. Even with the LCD, games generally perform great, except for the higher demanding ones. Although, not reliable for mobile use, it's a good secondary PC that I can leave docked onto my TV. Generally, Valve did a great job with the steam deck, a jack of all trades, but a master of very few. My most favorite aspect is the controller comfort.
This made me so happy, this was a really nice review, even if i already own a steamdeck. I have a rather powerful gaming PC but I have always disliked being stuck to one place when playing, i remember when i was about to get the desktop i was hesitant and would rather have had the portability of a laptop... I am in ways grateful i did get the desktop because it is now on its 8th year and isnt showing any signs of aging. But i still felt that need for portability, i like things being reliable and practical. I ended up getting the steamdeck with as much memory as i could and made it my new ''main pc'', so i use it for more than gaming, this is my ''laptop'' now. And i have no regrets, I dont need the best graphics, i just want the games to run, and it has been so nice to use emudeck on , basically everything works out of the box, and honestly i had to do more configurating and handle finnicky things on my windows than on this linux, which people warned me about, that using linux for gaming would be confusing. I may not be old but ive had my fair share of handling annoying PC's and making them work. This is a breeze! Comparing it to a reliable car made me so so happy! Your review was calm and easy to listen to, i too have ADHD, but i honestly thought the stare off was an artistic choice, it was funny, reminded me of how long intros Nicholas Garofola has where he just stares for comedic effect for a long time. I saw someone say that putting the names of the games could be helpful but other than that i dont see anything needing improvement i like it as it is! Sorry about the long message, just really happy about this video!
I think your videos are great, and the way you script them is flawless... keep doing it like you are right now, and you are going to grow really big, no doubt about it! Sorry for the bad english, not a native speaker hehe
Hey man, nice vid! You've really got me thinking that I'd do myself some good with a Steam Deck. I just wish valve made a Steam DOCK with an eGPU to go along with it for playing on the TV. Quick unsolicited tip, you can take the cleaned up audio track from adobe podcast and set it at 75% volume with your original track at anywhere between 25%-50% to make the VO sound much more natural.
I’ve made an X account for more gaming and handheld info

Love the analogy. Super baller video man.
Thanks broski. Your cinematography is on point
@@CyberDopamine Oh shoot thank you dude!!
great great video bro, this channel has become one of my favorites!!
I from Brazil and i really like your video. Your home is beautiful! Sorry about bad english 😅
chill vid, great quality brother
Thanks brother. Very informative video. Going to get my Oled on Wednesday. Ya sold me
Heck yeah dude that’s so exciting
@CyberDopamine I know brother. I actually watched this video last Tuesday and then went onto my steam app and purchased the 512gb Oled. Your videos are great brother keep it up
i love your style and how honest you are, please stay like that. much love. ❤❤
I reaaly like the rainy background! Mad respect 😂
Great informative video, showing a lot of nature in the background made for a cozy video and that thunder was amazing.
I'd like to see the name of the game on screen when showcasing a game
This is a great review, and hopefully if the prices can do down in my country it would be worth to get :)
For me what you mentioned in the reliability part is what makes the difference among all the other handhelds
3:52 I love the sound of thunder
"Performance 🗣️⚡🌩️"
Love your dope videos bro keep it coming 🙌🏼
great video, I do wish I had the OLED screen.
Playing BETWEEN the breaks at work is a very good idea!
Came for the review
Stayed for the bro🤘
There are a few things that made me buy a steam deck OLED after buying a legion go:
Love my Teamdeck Oled 1tb "Proton just kicked in Yo!! Vtec for life..
keep it up! great review.
Love the video!!! I would like to see some chapters PLEASE
Subbed, this video was awesome :)
The best honda civic commercial ever.
I was sold on the video when you compared it to the Honda Civic, it killed me, but yet reasonable... (Man, I should've waited because I bought the refurbished model that Steam was selling a month before the OLED was announced... )
Great breakdown. I don't have the OLED I have the OG big dog. I have not had a reason to upgrade my hardware yet but honestly I want an OLED so bad!
Great video :)
Cool video man! I have the LCD 64GB SD and totally love it. I was thinking about upgrading to OLED but after thinking it through I don't need it. I'll just buy the Steam Deck 2 when it comes out.
Love the content thanks for detailed video
Your videos feel just like when you drink a big cup of coffee on a rainy day while playing lo-fi beats on the background... I really this so much more casual approach vs what other youtubers do (like super geeky guys that talks tech terms that not all of us are super familiar with while in a gamer set up)
The natural calmness on your voice and how you emphasize on what you want to highlight is just such a refreshment
With that vibe bro you could definitely talk more about other devices (like that onexplayer humongous handheld) and even maybe creating a second channel where you talk about your gaming/traveling experiences
Since the first video I got completely immersed and I'm always watching and waiting for what's next
Btw nice LLG videos. I was about to buy one but I had to stop myself since I'm getting out of a little debt. Maybe in the future who knows? Maybe some other handheld PC comes out and I'll definitely want you to talk about it
Keep your videos just like this I feel like you have your very own format and style brotha
Saludos desde Mexico (translate that little brotha)
Awesome Video bro waiting for the next steam deck video love from India.....
Awesome vibe bro. Please add what games you play in the description!! They look great!!
I might preorder one next month
My most favorite aspect is the controller comfort.
fellow no rest for the wicked enthusiast i see yes yes man of culture
Great review man!
Your review was calm and easy to listen to, i too have ADHD, but i honestly thought the stare off was an artistic choice, it was funny, reminded me of how long intros
Nicholas Garofola has where he just stares for comedic effect for a long time.
I saw someone say that putting the names of the games could be helpful but other than that i dont see anything needing improvement i like it as it is!
Sorry about the long message, just really happy about this video!
Dude, you’re awesome! Thanks a lot!! I'll take this all into account. Maybe pauses are a good thing youre right
I think your videos are great, and the way you script them is flawless... keep doing it like you are right now, and you are going to grow really big, no doubt about it! Sorry for the bad english, not a native speaker hehe
Hey man, nice vid! You've really got me thinking that I'd do myself some good with a Steam Deck. I just wish valve made a Steam DOCK with an eGPU to go along with it for playing on the TV.
Quick unsolicited tip, you can take the cleaned up audio track from adobe podcast and set it at 75% volume with your original track at anywhere between 25%-50% to make the VO sound much more natural.
hey man, you seem like a really wholesome dude who just enjoys gaming. you’ve got a sub and a like from me - keep it up, bro 😎
