    The pocket was on my list for the last couple years. Got out there this past fall. You mentioned to plan on 5 or so hours to explore it. I was blown away by it and stayed 5 days. Camped down the sandy spur road about 1/2 to its end. Perfect days and some sub freezing nights. Having that much time really let me nook and cranny the place and find some super cool stuff. I even hiked over to the white mountain rock east of the main area and made a summit of that. Also a sweet area to explore on a fat bike. The deep soft sand 4x4 roads are a hoot that way. Did an 11 mile ride to an arch view point and side road exploring. I was exhausted by the end of the week. Had to get up for every sunrise, watch every sunset, explore the rocks in the moon light (was there for the partial lunar eclipse and blood moon). Star scape photography was amazing.
    Note to travelers going there. There are a couple routes in, and many interior trails to explore. Some have more sand than others. Some of the sand you encounter can be deep, soft, sugar sand. Airing down is a must. Clearance is a must. Some two track may have deep tracks with a center crown that can grab undercarriage, that can stop and bog down low vehicles. In other words, NOT average Subaru friendly. Roads in are posted, warning they are true 4x4 roads, low range is needed, not to travel in AWD SUV's. In fact I helped a Taco TRD and F-250 drivers who didn't know about airing down and were having a lot of trouble. Got them on board with airing down and pretty mobile again, but neither had air compressors for when they got back to pavement.
    I definitely fell in love with the whole plateau and will make it a regular visit.

    Great job! Excellent video! I know it will sound crazy to most people, but this formation is the fossilized remains of a gigantic titan, like those in the Bible or ancient Greek accounts. The white outer layer is skin, and the red fibrous mass is muscle. This is Biological and not strictly geological. Remember this is the land of petrified wood. If you have an open mind you will better appreciate this fantastic formation.

      Either a GoPro or Action 4, for the video and an external microphone to plug in for better audio! T

    Is the road more difficult than peak a boo?

    • @RobandKassAdventures
      @RobandKassAdventures  7 месяцев назад +2

      Towards the end of White Pocket road, it's very similar to the sandy sections to get to peak a boo slot canyon. If you can get to peak a boo then you can absolutely get to white pocket. The dirt road is way longer though!

      @@RobandKassAdventures thank you my forerunner didn’t have a problem getting out of there and yes, it was easier than peekaboo. Thanks to your video. I got to see this wonderful place.

    What were those creatures in the pools of water?

    It would be nice if the road was paved, so everyone could go there.. But it would be BAD if the road was paved so EVERYONE could go there... 🙄😲😆

      Absolutely agree! The road is the reason why White Pocket is in pristine condition.
