First recorded and first release by Bob Luman (March 28, 1957/July 1957) with the great James Buton (ld gtr), James Kirland (bass) & Butch White (dms). In Sellers Co. Studio, Dallas TX. Lend an ear to this recording. Burton created the music and played the guitar solo on Dale Hawkins 1957 hit song "Susy Q". B. 1939 must have been 17 yrs old. Ranked # 24 in Rolling Stone list of 250 greatest guitarists of all time.
I first checked out this CD at a local library. Had to purchase a copy for myself. Loved this Dylan track. It is from a tribute to Carl Perkins. Alot of really cool songs. I liked Dylan and Kid Rock very much.
This was from an album made in tribute to Sun Records Company. Not sure who else, but I'm pretty sure Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis and Charlie Rich recorded with Sun.
Yes, that's right. Lots of blues, gospel, R&B and rockabilly cats have recorded there, like Carl Perkins, Johnny Cash, Charlie Feathers, Rosco Gordon, etc
WOW! Thanks for this upload. I've heard live versions of this but this particular version sounds like a studio track. Could someone please tell me if this was released as an authorized album track??
One of my favorite vocal performances by Dylan. It's hard to explain why. I just love the sound of his voice on it.
It does sound a bit like he's dying, but I prefer it to his Blonde On Blonde voice.
When Bob’s voice takes on a sweet softness, he sounds like a sweet grandpa.
The first time I've heard this. It's an absolute classic.
Just delicious songs ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

Beneath that cowboy hat and sly smile lurks the heart of a rockabilly. Great tune & great version. In Bob We Trust.
Dylan sounds fantastic here... again, hes the best singer in history period
This is masterful. What a voice!
...this is a master at work...
Etonnant Bob Dylan, interprétant un des grands succès d'un chanteur de "rock-a-billy", Warren Smith.
Excellent accompagnement musical.

Hello. May I say that this was recorded by Warren Smith, and not Carl Perkins. Thank you.
@@heathstjohn6775 Warren's version was probably the best - in my opinion - but the original was by Bob Luman....and also very good.
@@GoonerBob42 Thanks.

I keep coming back to this song, Dylan owns it.
Err flat as a pancake, owns it, what?,listen to Bob Luman/Warren Smith just self indulgence on his part.
@@johnjackson2044 Agreed. Whoever told him he could sing?
great..................good old bob
Bob Dylan covers this old rockabilly song in a cool bluesy way.
Die beste Version, die ich kenne. Herr Zimmermann hätte Rockabillysänger werden sollen, wer hätte das gedacht?
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Long and tall, had plenty of cash. What else would ya want in life?
Why would it have been a tribute to Perkins? the song was sung by Warren Smith and nothing to do with Perkins.
WOW!
Thanks for this upload.

Robert Gordon kills this tune!
aangenaam verrast een van mijn rockabilly favorieten van warren smith staat dat ergens op cd?
Best thing he ever did.
Funny!
This songs sounds like Warren Smith sang it with heavy cold and galloping diarrhea :)
Exactly; imagine generating a whole career out of an on the run Warren Smith!!!
This is a disgrace compared to Warren Smith
