I love when Hawkeye throws it at the speaker when you know he had half a mind to throw it at Frank. Also, after you see all 11 seasons and then back to the first episode and season again and see that Father Mulcahy is played by a different person feels a little weird.
George Morgan was Mulcahy for the pilot, and replaced thereafter. I did read he actually appears in EVERY M*A*S*H ep by the quirk of being glimpsed in the opening credit sequence when the 4077 personnel first rush to the chopper. He's wearing that same hat, which was I guess supposed to be Mulcahy's trademark before it was phased out early in the Christopher era.
@@billslocum9819 I wonder why he was replaced after 1 episode? I don't think he even spoke a word in the pilot. I kind of think that maybe William Christopher had the part, but maybe was unable to be there for the filming of the pilot, so they got someone to take his place for that episode. Or they just felt that George Morgan didn't it cut it for them. Haha...that's a cool fun fact! I thought I had spotted him in the opening credits one time, but wasn't 100% sure. The M*A*S*H group on Facebook that I'm in had mentioned one time that they've seen Trapper in every opening credit after he left, still haven't been able to spot that though.
@@sportsygirl8 I think the conception of Mulcahy changed after the pilot. They wanted him to be a well-meaning boob like in the movie, and Morgan plays him that way. Then they realized they wanted a more grounded take.
@@billslocum9819 I see and it worked out very well when they changed him to be a more grounded person, as I have gotten older I have become to really like Father Mulcahy. William Christopher played him so well.
@@billslocum9819 ... Ever read the original book? In it, everyone called him "Dago Red" (I know it's derogatory, but that's what they called him. Sorry. Supposedly it means cheap wine) and he was actually a tough and well respected man.
Yes I know Frank is a funny character mostly cause he always falls for Trapper and Hawkeye’s pranks, jokes, and stuff but FRANK was a total jerk!? I mean there is not one good thing about him. He lies to his wife, when the orphanage was bombed and the kids had to stay there he was handed a child and his first words were “I JUST washed my hands” and walks away. And HE lied and got a Purple Heart saying he was hurt in the line of duty. Saying he was shot with a bulletshell when it was an egg shell. So yes I don’t blame Hawkeye for wanting to throw a rock right in his head.
I think Margaret might have been a little teed off at Frank's order too, else she might have been more strident in telling Hawkeye to drop the rock. (By the way, that was excellent aim--the original Hawkeye would have been pleased.)

Nah, I'm fairly certain this is between when Colonel Blake died and when Colonel Potter took command. Frank was (unfortunately) in charge during that time.
It wasn’t a stand in actor George Morgan was Father Mulcahy in the pilot episode and was replaced by William Christopher who went on to play the Father in all 11 seasons
the creators originally wanted no laugh track. The laugh track is a result of executive meddling. The producers made a compromise and made it so there was never a laugh track in the operating theater, even if something funny happened.
I love it! Burns knows he is in for it when Hawk picks up that rock.
Frank is my favorite. Always has been.

Well she did tell him to put it down. She just didn’t tell him on what to put it down on
I think she thought it was going to throw it at Frank.
Well, she did point at the ground when she said it. 🤷🏻♀️

Frank was a piece of shit, and so was Hot-Lips for knowing Frank had a wife.
Not to mention he mocked Hawkeye when the Military accidentally pronounced him dead.
One thing I always found funny was the fact that Larry Linville was loved by everyone lol! Seriously, that means Larry was a great actor.
Well Hawkeye did put the rock down right down on the speaker like it's the colperet
Classic MASH! 🤣 First three seasons are my favorite.
Who else on here thought he was going to lob that rock at Frank?
Frank certainly did.

😒 Ialway thought it would have been a funny blooper/ deleted scene that the rock ricochets of the speaker and hits burns. 😏😂🤣
No!
I think it odd that William Christopher's stand-in was in the shot, instead of William Christopher. It is really noticeable.

Should have hit Burns.
Then he would have been court martialed (Sp)
Robin Baker Clearly he was going to until she spoke up, so he changed his target.
Where's the laugh track?! Mash is not mash w/o laugh track!
Who the hell would watch MASH with a flipin laugh track?

I prefer MASH with no laugh track.
@trha2222 I am liberal myself, and what does that have to do with a laugh track?
@trha2222 Well...seems as if both liberals and conservatives need to be told how to vote, so being told when to laugh isn't really a stretch.
