I went from averaging adound 38 seconds with the 3d printed rexto to becoming sub 20 on the diansheng, which makes me 4th in the world. So i recently got into fto speedsolving, and i'm averaging around sub 1:10 and I did a small mod to the diansheng that in my opinion made it 500% better. You can take off the caps of the corners and you can see the magnets on the side. If you take some 3x2 mm magnets/whatever size you have, and put them on top of the normal magnets it makes the cube feel more stable and if also feels more pop resistant and lets you turn faster without having to worry about lockups.
I picked one up while I was in Guangzhou recently. Probably the hardest twisty puzzle I've managed to solve without consulting a guide. The light turning made coming up with longer algs (and performing them repeatedly quickly) much easier.
8:39 Well thankfully you do have a stickered RexTO, so switching your color scheme won't be too tough, thankfully I thought ahead when ordering my custom stickerless RexTO, and asked to get the diangsheng color scheme on it so I could get a head start on getting used to the color scheme
@@Z3Cubing yeah indeed, I do believe that most people will commit to this Color Scheme as it'll be considered the more "common" color scheme and it's pretty tough to swap around caps in the Diansheng FTO
Regarding the last step, it's easy to forget the alg or to be inefficient building triples - I strongly recommend looking up 2 look TCP which makes the last phase easier; and I have a video on my channel showing how you can solve the very last step using 3x3 OLL algs. This is helpful because you can stop practicing for a bit yet not forget how to solve.

Hello! Love the channel! Is there any chance you could do a review of the other diansheng big cubes? Your review of the 10x10 was super helpful and while I'm definitely tempted by their higher order cubes, they get quite pricey and i don't want to spend the money if just don't perform well
This puzzle is such a game changer! I previously only had the *old* Diansheng FTO from many years ago, which is similar to the LanLan, and my PB on that puzzle was 1:41 Two weeks with the new Diansheng, and I have a 45 second PB and nearly have my Ao100 under one minute
FTO just in my opinion is kinda an underwhelming name compared to like cube, pyraminx, megaminx etc. just in my opinion, I'm completely fine with it but only *IF* i were to name it it would be like "protominx" referring to particles. it's not like i don't like the name i'm just saying it could be better?(plz no bully in replies)

I can see how Octaminx could be an exception, like pyraminx, but then those three would have really similar sounding names which would make them appear like they're the same kind of puzzle (like 2x2, 3x3, 4x4, etc), even though that's clearly not the case

What's not to understand? It's very unique, is a platonic solid, has good hardware now, and so many people are getting into it. Honestly a good point. We don’t call megaminxes “FTDs” so I think a minx name would be okay (although we are very used to saying fto now)
