      Even if it does represent him who cares? Did he say he hates blacks? He wishes something bad on blacks? No. If he said those things then it would be an indication that they represent a particular feeling or disposition. The lyrics of the song literally laid out factual truths.     As a french quick context to add onto the whole "black players arent actually french" is its a recurrent subject within the right wing french media. in 2010-11 we had a scandal about wanting to put quotas of "real french" players in the team and youth football, and any national team competition these days sees a rise in those comments everytime here.

They tried to do the same thing with the mens national team but the captain Siya Kolisi (the first black captain) shot the idea down

      I don’t support mocking others, but it seems allowed/tolerated in football culture. What I strongly dislike is that some people have more protection than others. I think we should all be respected/disrespected equally, regardless of uncontrollable characteristics.
      You’ll probably say I’m “defending” him and being “racist”, but please read carefully… to me it’s the exactly opposite
      I’m ethnically Irish. My ancestors were also invaded and dominated by the British nation I’m now a part of. But if someone says I’m “not British”, there will be zero calls of “racism”, simply because we have white skin. I don’t want special protection, and I don’t think anyone else should get it either.

      If you give positive discrimination to counter-balance the negative discrimination, 1) they will never match up and equalize, and 2) you will constantly be trying to _measure_ the discrimination size to balance it, which I think is not possible.
      Britain was a mishmash of Celtic, Angle, Jute, Saxon, Viking, Scot, Pict etc. They undoubtedly abused each other, but the problem wasn’t solved by ethnicity-based protections, but simply by normalising ethnic diversity and treating everyone the same.

      I’m fully aware of the irony here, but you need to be more understanding that other cultures are different to your own. It’s kinda weird that our culture gives extra protection to certain groups based on immutable characteristics. It’s a bit more natural to respect (and disrespect!) equally.
      I have a preference (which is probably coming through), but I don’t objectively say one is better or worse; but I’m saying that expecting or demanding other cultures conform to your world view is a type of intolerance.

    I think the most reasonable thing for Chelsea to do is to sit down with the players affected by Enzo‘s chants and to talk to them and ask them how to make this right.     the indigenous and black population still lives in argentina. yes they’re in the minority due to the genocides carried out by the spanish but they’re still there and acting as if they’ve been “wiped out” only contributes to their erasure. it wasn’t your intention but vocabulary is important when talking about these groups as white argentinians do anything possible to erase their existence.

In Argentine culture, the “puteada” (similar concept to banter but way more extreme) is central to football. They treat each other like this or even much worse within Argentine club rivalries. If you did a song “celebrating” that the national team is home grown you’d be laughed out of the room. There are many songs celebrating good things about your club or whatever, don’t get me wrong, but in this context it would be laughable
