I've watched dozens of different people tie. and you wouldnt believe how many of them drop 1 turn over the material and then two behind it...and you can watch right there as the material they just put 1 turn over loosens up...Drives me crazy to watch. And these are experienced tyers!
I've never fly fished a day in my life, nor thought about the process behind the construction and assembly of fly lures. Now I have a semi-knowledge and a engrossing infatuation with it. Not only do you do an amazing job: but this is so well shot, edited, and produced that it blew my mind to find you were a smaller channel. Liked and subbed just so the algorithm can swing in your favor.
Very nice. Thank you for posting. You are one of the few tyers who mentions the main reason for helicoptering rather than cutting the wire - to bury it in the head. Of course, no matter how good you are, Murphy’s Law of Fly Tying always applies: there is always one stray fiber. ;-)
OK, I will cut it out! LOL. I didn't realize my wraps in front weren't doing anything until you mentioned it and it makes total sense. Thank you Charlie. You are my fly tying hero!
Sounds like you got a cold or something. Hope you're feelign better, but seeing as this was posted in May 2022 i'm sure you're doing better =) I'm following along with a lot of your vids. I just started tying and my first fly was the Copper John. Didnt do too bad, but the legs! those things are hella hard!
Hi Charlie. This is a great beautiful streamer. I have a question about the tail. Cut away part of the brown and black marabou feather. I can't quite follow it in this movie. I also hear that you have written a book. If you also have the title for me, I can order it. I am very grateful for your answer. Greetings. Ton from the Netherlands
Charlie, have you ever tried breaking the tips out of the marabou tail feathers? It looks a little too much like a brush for my taste, but you’re the expert here. God knows I’m not. 🙄

The black background really gives good contrast to the fly on the video . And the furnace hackle looks so good . Thanks for today’s gift :-)

My favorite, go to, and I first found it in Craven's streamer book. Love it!
Very cool Streamer. I'm looking forward to giving it a tie. Maybe a couple in different color patterns.
this is going to be a killer fly - thanks
Nicely done , my friend!
Beautiful pattern looks amazing

Hey Charlie, you haven't seen any of my "boring" custom buggers😅 gotta tie a few thin mints now, awesome instructions as always thumbs-up!
Great tutorial, Charlie.
“Cut it out!” Hahahaha! Charlie, you always make me laugh. Nice fly!
Great fly. Your videos are awesome, thanks so much. You said that this was different than the thin Mint bugger. What is the difference?

What kind of dubbing brush are you using? Thanks
That’s a Tiemco retractable dubbing brush. We’ve got them in the shop.
Nice tie 👍 creative, a woolly bugger on steroids
Captain, I would like to name fingers and point names.
Did this video really need to be made..? Did I really need to comment…?
..touché Charlie craven. You win again.
