Thank you for checking out the album. I appreciate your insights. TXT is really a group you should read the lyrics to when you get a chance. All their albums always change genres, so at first listen it may seem not cohesive until you read the lyrics and realize it actually is beyond cohesive telling a continuous story from start to finish (and even linking past albums and throwing in Easter eggs just for the fans, MOA) Additionally they usually perfectly place each genre change to match the mood of that certain arch of the story. It’s makes for a fun rollercoaster haha

My favorite song on the album is definitely Blue Spring. The lyrics are so heart warming. They performed Chasing that Feeling, Skipping Stones, and Happily Ever After on Tiny Desk Korea. Even if you do not react to it, you should listen to it on your own time. Their vocals really shined.

The reason it seems so all over the place is because it IS. It's intentional. It's basically the idea of "Chasing that Feeling". They were children who grew up, began to have disagreements and fight with each other, went through puberty, got their hearts broken and went through the 5 stages of grief, and then decided "I don't want to love or feel anymore". Now, they are at the point in their story and as artists where they are maturing and they are ready to get back their "feelings" and figure out who they really are. If anything, it's a mix of genres that both shows the tumultuous journey of a person trying to discover who they are and the various colors and styles of the TXT members themselves. After all, even though they are a team, they are 5 distinct people too. This theme of self-discovery is because it's "The Name Chapter" and its about their journey into adulthood.
Blue Spring is not exactly a sad song. You feel happy or uplifted for a reason. They talk about how they used to be blue and stuck in a sad cold and lonely winter, but now that they met MOA, their lives bloomed into a Blue Spring. MOA are the blue flowers that represent encouragement. Also: Blue Spring in Korean is read as 청춘 (chung-choon) which means "Youth". Since a long time before, they said that they felt like the fans encompassed their youth and that they wanted to be our youth as well. It's a fan song and in concert it really makes you cry.

This is probably my favorite album of theirs. As someone with an eclectic musical taste, it was highly satisfying that each song was in a different genre. The best part is that the genres really fit the storyline.
This album follows the last one where they realized they were lied to and tricked into a false paradise/heaven (Peter Pan/Neverland concept) then choose to leave to go to reality and grow into their adult selves. In one way or another, all their music is about growing up and different aspects that come with it.
This album intentionally starts with the heavy rock song Growing Pain to represent what they are going through as they fall from paradise. Even the sound of the singing has a feeling of falling. Blue Spring was their 2nd fan song. They've been performing it at concerts since last year March. It's so lovely live. Beomgyu played the guitar and composed it. You may want to check out the lyrics/meaning. Do It Like That was released last summer. It was produced by Ryan Tedder of One Republic, as was Back For More which TXT debuted at the MTV VMAs.
They put out a video on their RUclips channel to talk about the whole album with some behind the scenes comments if you want to dive in further...
