Myrcene: Sent, Location and Properties
Myrcene is a monoterpene found to be the most abundant terpene in cannabis.
Scent: Earthy, sweet, musky
Foods that contain myrcene: Mango, hops, lemongrass, thyme, and guava melon and lemongrass
Medical Benefits of Myrcene
Anti-inflammatory and anti-mutagenic (inhibits cell mutation, including cancer cells)
Suppresses muscle spasms, sleep aid, and also has antibacterial properties as well.
Studies show that myrcene may make THC more effective, which is why it has been said that consuming fresh mango (or other foods with high concentrations of myrcene) prior to consuming cannabis will increase the effects of the cannabinoids.
Inaccurate Information about Myrcene
Myrcene is important because its presence determines whether a strain is indica or sativa.
According to Steep Hill Labs, if a plant has more than 0.5% myrcene, it will produce indica-like effects.
Anything less than 0.5% myrcene produces sativa-like effects.
Myrcene is also known for its antibiotic, analgesic, and anti-mutagenic properties.
Cannabis Strains with Myrcene

Grandaddy Purple Agent Orange

You are welcome!
Thank you for all of your hard work professor.
You are welcome thanks for viewing and commenting!
Makes me happy to see how supportive all of the comments are. Godspeed, my friend. Wonderful videos!
DeBacco University is also happy to see this as well. This is likely because of the subscribers/viewers sharing the channel with like minded people who can recognize and support science.
And thats why i always have a mango smoothie before smoking 😁
from experience i can say it does increase the effects of thc
And it was very interesting to find out that Myrcene is the most abundant Terpene makes sense. Thank you for this video, professor
Glad to provide the scientific support to your observations.
Very educative, thank you professor
You are very welcome.
Love these videos! You should make a playlist for your terp videos since they are getting more mainstream.
Thanks for the suggestion, if there is interest there may be even more video lectures for this topic.
Once again, great video!
Once again, great comment!

Gosh this country f**** me up but I love it. Sorry for the rude word but I hope for a

Great info
Great comment.
👏👏👏👏
Thanks!
It’s kind of a mind blow when you tell us that there really is no difference between indica and sativa other than morphology. I always was under the assumption that indicas were more of the couch lock. And sativa is more of an energetic high.
mine have always been as you say, or i thought they did. if its down to myrcene only, am i wasting time with sativas as they're a pain the ass with their long flower time. fascinating.
Welcome to the quality content provided on this channel that may contradict what you typically hear. This is because the information presented is based on actual science.
sativa is Latin for cultivated by man - indica is latin for from India, people enjoy broken words. The "indica" is afghanica so its not even "indica"

👍yup
Thanks for the thumbs up.
I have a Strawberry Mango Haze can I do anything with mango peel or actual mango to my grow to increase these terp levels
In short... no, the terpenes must be produce from and with-in the plant.
:)
