Given how maneuverable the snakes apparently are, given the Noble animation set, I feel like they could have done a lot more with them than just letting them rise from his arms a little, give them a bit more personality and play into it. I'm thinking something like them actively exploring his weapons, doing an implied whispering motion to Lavos or watching his blind spot.
