I wasn't sxe but like some of it, this being my favorite EP (LP's by Youth of Today). I don't think I ever saw them live, I did see bands at the Country Club like Insted, Carry Nation and Shelter. I tripped out on all the kids in sneakers and a freaking Hare Krishna.
Wow... and to think that I bought this record in 1988, for $3.50. I bought it because some of the guys from Justice League were in the band. I had no idea how much influence this would have on hardcore. Crazy
I remember they used to get called "GQ hardcore". People were jealous. COS got real popular, real quickly with only 2 - 7"s that didn't have good production. I bought both and several shirts too. :)
I would have given it to BOLD for "Looking Back" personally, but now that you've pointed it out I'm forced to agree if only because at least BOLD did show some slight progression musically and wasn't quite as cookie cutter as COS. I stand corrected
So, song #1 is whining about how Blast betrayed them, song #2 is about how Al Barille from SSD betrayed them, #5 is about how 7 Seconds betrayed them... Who are the rest of their songs about?
At one point in life, you have to realize having a drink or two or smoke a joint once and a while with moderation isn't going to do any damage to you or anyone, and actually helps you relax from a stressful day at work. As for having sex, pussy is amazing! Straightedge is too cliquish. Addiction is no good either. Straightedge and drug/alcohol addiction are extremes, extremes are bad in general.

This original mix is so much better than the discography mix/master. I’m 16 all over again…
Let Down still makes me want to flip my car over.
Saw a dude in Batam, Indonesia wearing a chain of strength hoodie on the back of 2 stroke Honda; holding TIGHT to that Edge!
according to pete koller Indo LOVES hardcore.
He's not a fan, lol, he's poor & got all the useless crap we don't want, like a chain of strength hoodie, lol.

Bleaching your hair was a straight edge pre-requisite in the late 80's.
hahah true. me and my friends did it to, went a bit wrong, we all turned up with yellow hair.
Youthcew style
It actually draws out the nicotine in our hair, which we all have. True story.

I have really nothing to do with straight edge ideology... but this is great Hardcore music Indeed...
One of the first touring bands we hosted at the straightedge house. Great guys and great music.

wow this is way better than east coast youth crew bs....almost sounds like negative approach
God I think I spent about£20 about$35 dollars in the 80s on this ( import ). Money well spent...
I never had the pleasure of seeing this great band being from N.Y. and they didn't get to play much on the East Coast enough!
They came with Gorilla Biscuits in 1988 to PA. I was there..they only played like 4 songs.
Straight Edge or not, this is some killer Hardcore
Just when you think you have seen it all....a beer add right before a sxe band

Is it wrong I get stoned, listen to this album and love it?
Richard Retrotation yes, it's a 7" single 😁
I wear a Chain Of Strength shirt or Youth Of Today shirt while getting shitfaced.
I was edge for about a week in highschool until I realized I really enjoyed skateboarding while stoned.
No because they all drink now lmao. Also you can listen to earth crisis while you’re stoned if you want. It doesn’t fucking matter lol.
No, because they all sold out and said they songs weren't about being edge.
