    You are so fortunate to be able to find such beautiful rocks like that jasper in the beginning by "accident", but then I don't believe in accidents! That magical mossy place could draw me in forever, and I love the Zep reference. I have a pretty little actinolite ring, beautiful stuff! What a wonderful gift of corn and other seeds. A good friend indeed! Blue is my color as well. I had a dream once where someone very emphatically told me that I should ALWAYS wear blue, so I do. Totally cool shirt too 😊

    That rock with the green crystals could be a mixture with peridot. Also, nephrite jade usually will have a brown rind from exposure to weathering. Hydrothermal veins that contain metals will produce red rocks from oxidation. They can contain precious metals. Use a 20x loop to see. Gold can be trapped in oxidized metals. There are videos online that show how to extract it. Really enjoyed the video! You'd be fun to rockhound with!

    Wow! All the colors! What a blessing after so long of a drought! All the rocks that have been stirred up in the rushing water. And all the different types and colors, and patterns of just green! And the beautiful colors of jasper! And chert as you call it. The color combinations and patterns! They are going to make some fine jewelery or something out of it. Just amazing what mother earth has to offer. All you need to do is just open your eyes. And your gifts from a friend are amazing! Thank you Nate, for sharing your awesome finds with us, and the beauty of the world around us, where ever you are.

    If we find rocks like that, where do we go to sell them?

  • @janketza0206
    @janketza0206 Год назад +6

    Nate you need to start bringing a rock hammer with you and checking for Jade with it. Jade has a ting noise it creates when you hit it with a hammer. Once you hear it you'll never forget that sound. Because of its density, it makes that ting. You really have a great canyon to look for it there. Good Luck! I hope you find a ton of it! Also with Jade exposed to the natural elements in that canyon the rind will be misleading and discolored from Jade Green. So the ting of a hammer will greatly help you finding it. With all that serpentine there has to be some Jade.

      At Jan.... when you hit rocks you create fractures and then the ability to enjoy your specimen, cut and polish just might not be what you wanted...
      Jade is hard but not all that's beautiful is jade.. jade does fracture...
      A nice wet dry Dewalt battery operated grinder might be helpful

    • @janketza0206
      @janketza0206 Год назад +2

      @rebecca Well it's a technique I use and works for me. You're not trying to break the rock but listening to the sound of the rock to inspect it further.
      This technique was also used in Guatemala in the 1980's when they rediscovered Jade there.

      It's also used in metal casting large certain objects , in that profession it is called sounding, I'm sure that many people knew this and thought of it at the very least they would have said that it rings a bell.

      Rebecca, your imput is always a refreshing cool breeze on a hot summers day, an extra blanket when it's cold, a take out meal when cooking has lost it's appeal, a loving hug when you're feeling low.
      I could go on but I fear that like a broken pencil it's pointless and marriage is out of the question so don't ask.

  • @janicescragg2388

    I am really lichen the Nature's art on the rocks. Lol. And the green in the serpentine comes from the color of the moss leaching into the rock, right?🤪😁 OK, on a more serious note, It would be amazing to see what the more fibrous stone would look like shaped and polished.
