After changing the battery in my SNDC33P1, the first watch my wife ever bought for me, the hands were misaligned and thought it was a lost cause. You literally changed my day for the better! Everything is lined up now and I am very happy. THANK YOU!
I've had a Seiko chrono for many years, but had forgotten how to set the alarm and reset the hands. So, thanks for this video - it's been really helpful.
I just had the battery changed and the long chronograph hand (yellow one on my Flightmaster) ended up at 6 o’clock. With your tutorial it was a breeze! Many thanks!
Ahhh I thought I'd have to send my watch in to Seiko to get it repaired because the bottom dial was misaligned and this video helped me to fix it myself. Thank you so much!
😂mine is the exact polar opposite of the one in the video , the buttons functions are backwards for me, the hour on my stopwatch function resetas and 3 o clock instead a 12 ,regardless of what i do
Thanks for this!!! Found my dad's old watch in his drawer today (he passed away in 2021). It's a Seiko Chronograph 7T94-0BL0. Had the band resized and a battery installed but hadn't noticed the jeweler hadn't fixed the misaligned hands until I got back home. Thanks to your video I was able to realign.
Thank you soooo much. 'Fixed' my Pulsar (Seiko) chrono diver. Very happy. Now to get confidence with the alarm. I love the al alarm sound I just want to hear it on command
I just purchased this same beautiful model from Seiko! Useful video and very clear instructions. I've added to my library for reference in case I ever run into this issue. Many thanks!
You, good sir, are my hero of the day. Thanks so much for posting this and for explaining it in a way that even a noob like myself would understand it. :)
Fixed my eta based watch with this trick as well, albeit slightly different. Glad to know that I don't have to open up the case to fix this hahah. Cheers mate 🍻
Thank you for sharing this knowledge. Forgive the very naive question, but does the secondhand on a seiko chronograph not move unless the stopwatch function is being used?
Not naive at all - I wondered the same thing at first! You're right, the long seconds hand on nearly all chronographs (not just Seiko) does not move unless you start the stopwatch function. Instead, there's usually a smaller seconds hand, often in the left or bottom part of the dial, that rotates all the time. Sometimes it's hard to notice at first because it's so small. Hope that helps!
Super useful video, I have Seiko Daytona panda(VK63), but my watch does not follow these instructions after I take out the crown and push the upper button that starts the stopwatch, do you have any idea how to fix it? my second hand is off centered. TIA
@@mizeni Looking very much forward to that video; used to have a chrono with this movement, and about to have one once again (9000 series w/telemeter dial). Totally forgot about the reset function, so *big* thanks for this concise refresher.
Is it normal for the big second hand not to move? When I press the pea button it moves, at 12 o'clock it stops. But the small second hand always moves. Thanks for video
@@alexching1914 Hey, welcome back! Great to hear that it's still useful, and that your watch can be brought back to full health again. See you again, but I hope it lasts a bit longer before need the fix. 🙂
Thanks for making this video. When I got a Seiko SNDA25 from a thrift store, I didn’t even know how the chronograph worked but luckily I was able to find the instruction manual online too.
Oh weird. As you mention, that normally means it needs a new battery so it's strange that that doesn't fix it. I'd probably try a different new battery just in case (I've occasionally had old "new" ones that were too old and didn't work). Apart from that, perhaps it's a faulty chip inside that just thinks the battery low, but I'm not really sure. It might be best to ask on forums like www.thewatchsite.com just in case.
Hi, When I long-press the small crown at the right-top nothing happens on my watch. It is a relatively new watch 1 year old. Is there any other issue on mine? Appreciate the reply!
Hi. Could it be that your watch is a different model? The Seiko chronographs sometimes vary in how they're reset. I only really know about the 7T62 and 7T92 range.
@@mizenimy watch is almost 20yrs old. I've used the same watchmaker for battery changes for almost as long. After the last change, as soon as I left his shop and got to my car, I noticed the top sub-dial was stuck at the 4 second mark (I'm surprised the watchmaker didn't notice). My first inclination was to take it back to the watchmaker, but then I decided to first check online to see if there was any info which brought me to your video. Then the fix was easy as pie. Though I'm curious if I would have been charged to get the dial corrected had I brought it back in. Especially given how easy it was to fix. Anyway, thx again.
I successfully went through the realign process, but every time I then use the stopwatch function start, stop, reset, the long second hand lands on a different spot other than 12. The sub-dials do rest correctly. Any thoughts on what’s causing the second hand to be I’ll behaved?
Hi Derrick. Hmm, hard to tell for sure but the seconds hand requires more power to move around the dial than the small sub-dial hands, so it could be a low battery that needs changing. Alternatively it could be old or dried up oil on the pivots in the movement, which is causing friction to stop the seconds hand before it reaches its proper resting spot. That would mean it needs a full service to get it back to normal. One other alternative is that one of the tiny plastic gears is getting worn, which would also mean it needs a full service. I really hope it's just a battery change that would fix it, so that's the first thing I'd try, but if not, I don't think there's another quick solution I'm afraid - the next step would be a full service.
Thank you sir! Great video and help us! I have chronograph 7t92- 0br0, very rare in 2023. Big problem with watches wuth this movement is changing bracelets. Very small position on top for leather strap...
You're welcome - thanks for the nice comment! The 7T92-0BR0 is a really nice-looking watch but I see what you mean about the small area straps or bracelets. It looks difficult to change them.
This might be the best how-to video on RUclips. You just saved me an [expensive] trip to the watch repair store.
