How old r they? They r not used 2 it.Tell 'em 'twas the biginning o' dance music we still listen 2day ! WHAT a time !!! Aciiiiieeeeeeeeddd !!!!!!!!!!!!!
I turned 50 this year ! Born 1974, I was 12 when all this Sampling-Stuff like M/A/R/R/S came out, and 14, when THIS Tune rocked the german Charts ! Nobody can ever take away from me THIS Memories !!!
Am an anomaly then, am 62 years old, late bloomer, but always loved underground music new wave/synth pop/industrial music in the late 1970's -80's so a logical progression to rap, house and eventually techno stopped raving after 10 years to have a family and don't regret a thing. Glad I was there to witness the fun, excitement hedonism, feeling of unity and positivity of the revolutionary boundary pushing electronic dance movement.
This track will forever remind me of the night I went to my (then) local pub back in '88. The local thug, who would normally kick yer' head in for looking at him sideways, was going around hugging people, and saying to them, "'Av' you had one yet matey?" Revolutionary times, never to be experienced again.
Wow!!!!!!!!!!what a video. I love it. I was 15 when this came out and the house music came and then the rave scene. Shout out to South Wales in the UK.
love this song, every time i hear it reminds me of the disco/clubbing days..dancing for hours..no matter how much you drink you sweat it out..so always go home sober..glad booze was cheaper then. Also a comic book i used to read 2000AD, had a strip called ZENITH..one of the characters in that was a robot who was into acid house music..he used to always say ACIIEEED haha aahh good times
Not just the drug but the music associated with it happy happy days ..never gonna see it again. Youngsters nowadays never gonna witness it unfortunately 😔
I remember when this came out - they released it in the charts ...so not many hardcore ravers at the time really acknowledged it ... it was all about the underground status back in 89' - not tunes rubbing shoulders with kylie minogues - "i should be so lucky" or BROS's " when will I be famous" what i also remember is lots of smiley face acid ( blotters/tabs ) knocking about around the sametime from about 88' onwards ( main source was the travellers ) - the smiley blotter was my first trip , then we had a long batch of "pink floyds" that seemed to be a endless supply lasting at least a couple of years . I do remember one of the guys who i used to get my acid from ...found 10 Floyd's sowed into the hem of his curtains ( to hide if he got busted ) .. I also remember losing a floyd in my swede leather jacket as the pocket had a hole in ..... i found it about one year later and although was weaker it still worked when i took it in a maths lesson .... while trying to find small bits of GEAR ( blims ) from my jacket .... The exams i sat in the afternoon could have went better
I was 17 and had this tattooed on my calf ..a smiley face with tongue out and aciied (above) & man (below). With wavey lines and trippy orbs all around.. one of my earliest forays after electro street sounds and breakdance, and after house nation , went to warehouse parties then as 89,90 revolved around was going to raves then 91,92 travellers festivals (myself for rave tents ,my friends were new age travellers...dropped out of scene in 94-98..never stopped listening to sounds tho until around 15yrs ago then only here n there ,now finding feet back in to new sounds and our old skool originals...this started it all (not counting HOUSENATION)
Wow 19 when this came out and watching now jeez what great times we had - makes me wish I was this age again, out every weekend and not a care in the world (we’ll only about my weekend money 😜)
I've followed on here my whole music transition from electro at 13 thru hip hop/ electronic+samples to house to acid to rave at 19 ..was a amazing time to be alive and we were alive ..warehouse/ free festivals / raves was a beautiful time when we really were all under one nation. Happy dazE
I would teach my kids by telling them this is the very beginning of house and dance music as we know it by now. Old skool, wonderful. Dutch readers will perhaps remember "turn up the bass" collection...
Who truthfully can listen to this track without singing or dancing.......its just a great track!! 1989....belting tune! The videos a bit scary though!!!
Classic.. Here 90s in Lisbon.. Kremlin, Alcantra mar, Fragil, Sudoeste bar bairro qlto on fire.. Good times.. Ever.. Best regards to all brothers.. Aceed House.. Ever ❤
Strangely enough though the masses started taking acid and this tune seemed to bring the post 60s trend back on the scene. And the aceeeeid cry was one of those selling LSD at illegal raves as such so it actually tricks u into a false sense of belief as to the lyrics.
This is my ringtone so can you imagine the looks I get when it rings!
Brilliant
Just start dancing wen it goes off !! .. an start singing Acieeeed !! 😂 then they will stop looking 🤣 mint track pal 😎👌
Where do get this as a ringtone?
Is it still your ringtone dude
How old r they? They r not used 2 it.Tell 'em 'twas the biginning o' dance music we still listen 2day ! WHAT a time !!! Aciiiiieeeeeeeeddd !!!!!!!!!!!!!
From what I've heard, the UK was on fire when this song dropped. We caught the smoke in the states.
the UK was on fire..empty warehouses meant party!! great times
the UK was on fire..empty warehouses meant party!! great times
UK was on fire ;-) an empty warehouse meant a huge party;-) great times
Ruth Crabtree Thus the beginning of the rave.
It did, :-) had no idea had posted that 3 times, said it didn't post at all!!
At 49 it's all just memories.. this is where it all started for me! I had a career of raving that I'm extremely proud off.
One love

Right on one, matey!

RIP Gary Haisman, sadly passed away yesterday. Legend of London and the house scene
Like his music
Rip
Dancing Danny D was extremely talented! Love this tune
Crazy this tune is 31 years old, doesn't sound dated, don't think it ever will, sounds better than the modern crap
Not sure about that but doesnt stop it from being a tune
Definitely sounds dated. Great track though.
@@HipixOFFICIAL I dunno bro, sounds a bit like the retro sound I think labels like hot creations are aiming for, minus the vocals ofc haha
ok boomer
Almost 35
One of the BIGGEST tunes .. still sounds fresh
Every time I hear this it makes me remember a sea of heads bobbing up and down on the dance floor in unison-epic.
Can't lie...30 years on, that beat still goes hard.
My boyfriend in the lates 80's painted a square Skoda bright yellow with black acid faces on the doors. Youth!
Still an amazingly strong 31 year old dancefloor classic! This, KLF and Prodigy is the UK dance scene at its best!
Don't forget Altern8
Sounds extremely dated 😂 still a tune but stinks of 80s. Basic programming and cheesy vocals

Lol, my cousin gave me them comics.. I never remember the acid house robot!! That's amazing, can you remember his name?
Not just the drug but the music associated with it happy happy days ..never gonna see it again. Youngsters nowadays never gonna witness it unfortunately 😔
Love it - found a podcast about Ecstacy from the BBC, you know I had to hit this song up
This song is so subtle in its message. I wonder what all the controversy was about?
I remember when this came out - they released it in the charts ...so not many hardcore ravers at the time really acknowledged it ... it was all about the underground status back in 89' - not tunes rubbing shoulders with kylie minogues - "i should be so lucky" or BROS's " when will I be famous"

Gear? That's heroin in Ireland 😂
It came out in 1988 though not 1989, even says underneath the video lol

we call it acid
Here from Stuart in eastenders loooool
Same!! 😭😭🤣😭🤣😭🤣😭🤣
Hahaha same here Stuart is getting what he deserves
Haha yeah I know it’s great, but mick is now showing similar psycopathic traits as Stuart I hope he manages to shake these traits.
Same came back to lisen to it
@@WA786K same came back to reminisce when Mick Carter had the most balls ever “HELP HELP ME PLEASE” mocking Stuart
Never gets old. NEVER
My days, I forgot this one shit took my first trip to this. Still at school man. It was interesting cross country running on it
jesus lol
Absolute classic - your music will live on R.I.P. ❤
How did I miss this as a kid I need this in my life
I would never even be able to tell this wasn't the original. Good editing.
Wow 19 when this came out and watching now jeez what great times we had - makes me wish I was this age again, out every weekend and not a care in the world (we’ll only about my weekend money 😜)
Those smileys t-shirt 😂 we wear in 1989 with red a bandana! I would still do it in 2022/23
In Germany we called this "Piratentücher", the `Bandanas of Pirates` !! What an Era in the late 80ies, WOW !!
This is from 1988, not 1989!
This video still cracks me up all these years later :)

Beginning of house was in 1986 in UK and 1985 first coming from the US.
This song still hits classic music you can hear how clear those drums are
I had the sample "acieeed" in many demos and tracker tunes in the old Amiga: just great
Quality track, great memories. Thanks for posting
Bump.
Still works, even If the sound is very 90’s and simple… doesnt matter. Killer tune❤❤❤❤
Oh Fantastic, I want it as my Ringtone - I used to have Gangsters by The Specials lead by the beautiful Terry Hall , God Rest his Soul🙏
This reminds me the Acid Parties @Chic Club in Zurich 1988!!! Summer of Love 1 9 8 8
An absolutely stone-cold classic. ACIEEEEEED!!
Starck Club, Dallas, Summer of ‘88. Can you feel it? 😃😃😃
I particularly like the bit in the song where he goes 'Acieeeeeeeeed'

I've always loved these 80s music videos with the Memphis styling.
My time when I was young !!! I miss it so much, Acid, Techno and House - best time ever!!!!
dancing to this at the local teen disco, with nothing more than two cans of tenannts in us
2 tennents is allways enough
Even 4

Wow take me back not a bad night .ever in this era
First heard this when I was 13. And for me, I'm 43 now and there's nothing better for me than acid haaaas 😋
If I watched this while on Acid I would never take it again.
Wow! It's even better now than when i've first heard it 11 years ago!
Its true most wouldn't go near this track back then but all these years later it brings a tear to the eye😢😊😊😊😊
Ain't music FANTASTIC, and if the powers' that be get worried ' LOVE IT MORE

Whoa remember this when I was in children's home😮 apart from electro and early hip hip this was the beginning lol
Nice work, extending the video.
Thank you, enjoy :)
80s was the Real Jam, Everlasting
Shaun Ryder mr happy Mondays said in his book he took acid every day for over a year when he worked at the post sorting office 🤪

I love this song
Oh Mann, ich Dreh jetzt auch gleich los...
R.I.P...... Gary Haisman
This tune has nothing to do with drugs, it's about the turntables they used to produce a unique sound, acid house being one of them
Strangely enough though the masses started taking acid and this tune seemed to bring the post 60s trend back on the scene. And the aceeeeid cry was one of those selling LSD at illegal raves as such so it actually tricks u into a false sense of belief as to the lyrics.
👍 Yep, Going through my old records... Next stop ... Run DMC ( Run's House)
Still have this 12in
“If you thought it drugs, now you know you’re wrong”
Still got banned from Top of the Pops tho 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
They let Ebenezer Goode on tho 💀💀😂😂
1980’s Dance music videos you loved as a kid:
Dated.
Dated how??
And the music video for-Ride on Time, that is not dated!
Anyone hear after hearing this on eastenders when mick was about to kill Stewart lol
Abigail May Did he kill Stuart? The door has been left open for him to return
Rob Hines we didn’t actually see him kill Stewart, so no one knows but i’m guessing he has?!!
