  • Hey guys!
    Thanks for stopping by! Today I'm sharing with you how I QUICKLY moisturize and seal and use essential oils to retain moisture in my hair and facilitate hair growth and length retention during the cold Winter months. As we all know cold air makes the hair loose moisture quickly and lead to breakage. During Winter, I do this at least a couple times a week to retain moisture in my hair.
    Thanks for watching!
    I hope it helps or inspires!!
    Creams: Miss Jessie's Pillow Soft Curls and/or Smooth n Shine Curl Cream - (I've been using them both regularly lately)
    Argon Oil - Difeel Sunflower Brand - purchased from local beauty supply store
    Jamaican Black Castor Oil Very Dark - Sold almost everywhere
    Scalp Massager - Sally's Beauty Supply
    All Essential Oils - Purchased from Walmart
    Join me on my journey to healthy natural hair!

    You and nappy fu are the only ones who have my hair type, I’m tired of seeing so many fake 4c hair girls that are just labeling their videos that for the views 🙄

      Craving Kinky Curly is another true 4c hair sister. It's funny. I remember not too long ago type 4 hair was the most hated hair type on the planet now we have imitators trying to steal our thunder. I am aware that we still have a long way. The truth is after you truly embrace your coils and fiqure out which techiques and products work for your hair you will discover your own natural beauty. But like everything else it is a process.

    My hair is in twist right now and will be under a wig for the rest of the winter. No heat. Minimal stretch. Water and Jamaican black castor oil, daily. 👑

    I read that it was NOT a good idea to microwave the products because the radio waves have an adverse effect on the nutrients in the oils, herbs, etc. A double boiler or putting the oil mixture in a water bath will heat the oils without compromising the nutrients! Love you, sis! 🙏🏽🤗🤟🏽

    • @chalseywilder937
      @chalseywilder937 5 лет назад +2

      It's not good to do that even more because the preservative will boil off over time.

    • @MothLand
      @MothLand 5 лет назад +4

      Microwaves actually don't do anything to nutrients or vitamins. In some cases, they enhance the effects. Just be careful microwaving anything haha

    I actually did this for the first time with my hair today and liked how it felt. It makes sense (keeping your hair moisturized), so I'm gonna incorporate this for the rest of winter.

    I have been taking care of my hair like how my mom used to when I was younger (shampoo and conditioner) (grease and moisturizer) and now my hair is pass mid back and its extremely thick but I'm having problems moisturizing and washing cuz its extremely thick but I dont wanna lose my length I'm almost to but length

      I hate that people think that grease is bad I grease my scalp 3 times a week 😘😘

    • @RavynP
      @RavynP 5 лет назад +7

      Amber Black it depends on ur type of hair.
      I have type 3 hair medium density and grease makes my hair look a limp mess.
      Maybe because I only wear wash and Gos but grease is only good for twist/braidouts which a lot of us don’t do.

      I think it depends on the individual and their scalp. I live grease too. My hair is waist length!!! My mom used grease on my head when I was little and it wad long and thick then

    • @dianncotterell5531
      @dianncotterell5531 5 лет назад +2

      I started using grease 3 months ago and now my hair stays moisturized. Only down the length of my hair.

      If it's that long you might start looking for a good salon. That way you can get your washes, conditioning and trimming done to retain length and keep your stands healthy. Good luck!

  • @helenlucka

    Kinky hair is not “coarse”. I think this term is misused very often. Our strands are very fine compared to Asian hair that is coarse(their single strand is very thick and tough, thus coarse). If our hair was coarse, we would not need to take extra care of it for us to retain length.

    • @traciearly6316
      @traciearly6316 5 лет назад +14

      My daughters kinky hair is very fine. She has lots of it, but the strands are definitely not coarse. My neice on the other hand, has very kinky/coily coarse strands. Her hair doesnt break as easily as my daughter's because of that. I think its just an individual thing. Some kinky hair is coarse, some isn't.

    Jen what do you do to your hair in a 4 week period? I know you wash monthly. Do you keep your hair in twists most of the time?

    • @whatliesbeneaththeweave3518
      @whatliesbeneaththeweave3518  5 лет назад +14

      Yes, I keep my hair stretched in twists between styling. It's in some form of twists 80% of the time.

    Thank you for the video! I have two questions. How many Twists do you have? And how many times in a week do you do this?

    • @whatliesbeneaththeweave3518
      @whatliesbeneaththeweave3518  5 лет назад +4

      I didn't count this time because I did them smaller. If I know I plan to do a sleek style later, I'll make the twists smaller. If I'm doing some sort of curly style, then I'll make the sections larger. This time each section is about the circumference of a quarter. I keep my hair in twists between styling to keep it detangled and stretched. I keep my hair in twists UNTIL I'm ready to style it, so there's not a set number of times a week that I do it.
