Nice video Jamie. I used to work by the Don at The Ickles in between Rotherham and Tinsley back in the 70's. Different kettle of fish back then with very little sign of life of any kind due to pollution from the likes of BSC and all the other companies further upstream in Sheffield. Used to be all kinds of colours (and smells) depending on who was pumping stuff in. One of the Rotherham clubs used to run an annual match in Rotherham more to emphasize how polluted it was than in the hope of actually catching fish but when I left in 1989 it had improved lots as more and more companies closed down and I actually got my photo in the Steel News after catching a small roach from Ickles bridge.
Great session on a natural venue with some great camera angles giving a true reflection on the type of bites you can expect with balanced tackle brilliant
Another great video Jamie. I did my degree in Sheffield just over 30 years ago, it’s hard to imagine the River Don I knew then containing any fish that weren’t glowing green! Great to see that the river has recovered so well. I look forward to the next video.
Really enjoyed your video! Used to play along the banks of the Don near there when I was a kid, - the river was so dirty and smelly even the rats wouldn't swim in it! Great to see it has changed for the better!!
Superb vid Jamie..... never fished that far up on Don, as you know always fish not to far from Town, but always had good sessions. My last visit included some belting Chub on cheese and special flavoured hot dogs. Keep em coming pal. Regards IAN
Hi Jamie I’ve been fishing a river not far from us (Sheffield ) and I’ve been hammering them. Me and a mate have been getting weights from 140lb to 250lb in a session. One session we fished close to each other and had 380lb of proper bream between us
Great video Jaime and the info was correct with you being on those bream from the off, shame to water started rising and pushing through a little as i think you would of caught 2-3 more but that's fishing.
Hi Jamie, well i have never seen the Don, uncanny but that peg was identical to St Mary's Gardens on the Gt Ouse where i fish for bream in the winter! I use the Nisa feeders as the ability to add 5 gram weights makes them easy to balance in the changing flow, and i start off with tightly packed likky and flake which can pick out the stamp fish. I don't clip up but use a sliding stop knot as rogue big fish are a problem and that can mean carp to 30lbs plus, double figure bream and big tench! One fish went under the town bridge before the line parted on the stone work and surprised the legal boys taking a break on the opposite bank, which is the magistrates court! Please more video's on running water. Take care and stay well, kindest regards Bill
Your videos inspired me to step away from carp fishing and to discover the world of the feeder. Thank you for that amazing content, i learnt so much from your advice and feel ready to tackle the lakes in Thailand where i am based. Cheers Mate :)
I've been struggling on stillwaters last few weeks, this has inspired me to try similar tactics on the Calder this week. Another great video with excellent commentary Jamie. Cheers pal. Andy James 👍
Hi Jamie, I have been fishing my local reservoir through winter and catching skimmers on a cage feeder with micros in the feeder and fishing sweetcorn on the hook I didn't know sweetcorn would work in winter.
Really enjoyed that. A nice little river session. It would appear that a strange white topped carrot was stalking you on the day. LOL Glad to see you're well Jamie. Been a great day here in the south, my son, his better arf, and their growing bump visited. Looking forward to a granddaughter. Best thing to happen for me for ages. You keep taking care my friend. TTFN.
Another great video. Watched as soon as I got my notification and enjoyed thoroughly. Great technical info and atmosphere from choosing your swim to choosing and going through what tackle to use. Your definitely the best in the business. Cheers mate 😊
@@CatchFishingChannel come to us in russia, there is not enough information here and there are no experts on Matrix products, it would be great to see you here in spring. Тhank you for the great movies!

Great video mate .... You should have a crack on tidal other side of dony.... Half a dozen fish up there for 30lb if you drop on em .... Fight like carp too in there 👍🎣
Great video as always mate just wanted to say thank you for the videos during this very hard year and wish you, the matrix lads and family a merry Christmas and let’s hope a very happy 2021 keep up the great work
Sorry I had to laugh to myself there was a bloke in orange overalls standing behind you while you were talking to the camera, I wondered if he thought you were talking to yourself 😂😂😂. Great upload as always, stay safe... Gazza
Change of scenery and another simple and effective session video. Do you think that lighter groundbait are more effective in the deeper water because of the lower penetrating light levels, and therefore dark groundbaits are unnecessary? Thanks as always buddy.
Another great video Jammie . Jammie i need your help if possible . I have been looking to buy a P25 SEATBOX . Dew to the low bugget I have i was able to find on ANGLING DIRECT a box for a reasonable price buy unfortunately it is out of stock so is every single attachment i wanted to buy with it . Could you give me any advice on where i could purchase 1 . Ebay and amazon r a no go . I look forward to hearing from you regards ROB.
Awesome footage jamie, is it day ticket on that stretch? Im only at hull and want to get some more river sessions in this year, feeder fishing is my bag really, do you get out this way at all for any venues?
It's controlled by Doncaster and District Angling Association, £5 per day or £30 per year........I'll show you how to fish the Don properly, stick float or waggler, depending on the swim.
hi Jamie, the gentleman behind should be at work. But understand him, you just can't keep walking when someone is fishing. And then also catches big bream. then you also want to fish. It will be fast weekend again so the gentleman can go fishing. 😉😉👍👍
Jamie, you say you don't normally clip up on rivers, i'm just wondering why? I have been watching matches on my local river (the Seine) and I noted that everyone clipped up despite the strong flow.
@@CatchFishingChannel just out of interest then whats the minimum depth you would use your platform? I've noticed with the mk2 platform that unless the left front leg is over knee deep i struggle to get my side tray on my box as the platform legs get in the way ( I am right handed)

Я думал, что это наш Российский Дон. 😄👍
Don't think tango man standing behind you helped??
Why are you holding your rod high when playing the fish when in the past you have said keep it low & pump the fish .
That's all you need , some nob in hiviz sky lining you ,,,, and he's high up,,,, all he needs is a torch to shine in the water as well
If you listen when you are playing the third fish, you can hear a buzzard screeching above you.
The best master 👍👍🙏
