I love this episode! I know the two of you are so busy pursuing your own businesses and lives, but I just love it when the two of you get together! It’s magical! I didn’t have a sister growing up and so I live vicariously, watching the two of you interact with each other!
Oh thank you dear sisters in Christ ! I so needed to hear all of this ! My brother is very ill and our 80 year old mom is his main care giver - they live 8 hours away and it’s so hard for me to be hurting and working full time! I so want to make Christmas special for my family that’s here with me and all the content in this video was such a blessing and so uplifting and let me let go a huge sigh of relief!!!! Thank you Jesus ! Happy Advent season every one !!!!!!!!!
Cute ideas. And while I think a mug would be cute for a young adult. However, by the time you're older, you have accumulated more mugs that you can imagine. It's amazing how rapidly they accumulate. Finding gifts for minimalists is hard! Thanks for all the ideas.
A tradition we have in our family on Christmas eve is a Fondue dinner. An easy delicious cheese Fondue with loaves of French bread cut into bite size pieces, mini sausages or cut up sausage, blanched cut up broccoli and cauliflower... and we all sit around with our Fondue forks and have a slow easy dinner. We look forward to it every year.
Morning girls, one of the things I don’t do anymore is doing Christmas cards. I handed them off to my husband a few years back. The wrapping, baking and crafts and decorating are my jam and cards were just stressful. I have just planted my paperwhites and checked them off the list. I have a notebook where I have all crafts listed and am trying to get one done a day. Thank you for all your cheerful suggestions. God bless you both and your family. I’m 75 (unbelievable) and am delighted that you young gals love the Lord and share your gifting so willingly.
I finally convinced my kids to not do gifts and instead go on a big family trip! Yay! We love to camp so we’re going on a camping trip, after Christmas. On Christmas Day we’ll have our traditional nice breakfast, we will open the gifts from Grandma, and just spend time together. I’m really excited.
I’m so grateful for your channel! I don’t really have Godly women in my life so the two of you and your channel(s) are so uplifting to my day! Thank you for your time and your hearts for sharing your content with your subscribers❤️
Okay, I totally was not into the Oreo mug cake idea BUT I have a daughter with Celiac disease and gluten-free Oreos are incredible and taste exactly like the regular Oreos- so now it is on my list to try! We are always looking for special treats she can be a part of, and this may be just the thing. Thanks!
I shared the Oreo mug cake with a friend in the same Celiac boat. Let’s just say it was exciting to see the joy this little idea brought to my friend. Prayers for your daughter!! And, I hear Saltgrass Steakhouse has fabulous gluten free items!!
I would want the farmhouse mug, but the snowman one would be good for my grandkids. I could not find the printable cards though, love y'all's ideas. You're both so sweet and very inspiring, thank you so much.
Snowman is so cute! I have never seen a Hallmark movie😂 As a pastor's family, our holiday season is extra busy and so we have pizza Christmas Eve and watch a Christmas movie after service and open stockings
Cute ideas! Love the smile mug makes me giggle. The barn one yes is those movies! Thank you for the ideas! Merry Christmas Diana and Dawn❤❤ we love you
Thank you ladies soooo much for always bringing some joy, hope, and great ideas to everyone's day!!!:) God Bless you and thank you also for being faithful to your calling!
Thank you! I've already bought the snowman mug and Oreos from Dawn/Dana/Christine's Christmas preparation videos. So cute! Couldn't find the Less Doing More Meaning--I'll keep looking around - maybe I missed it.
love your ideas, enthusiasm, and the simplicity of it all; stress-free and pausing to enjoy instead of 'what just happened' is awesome! tx for the downloads too ❤
Great tips! I love especially the one about finding your Christmas personality. I HATE chilling dough. I'm not doing that again! 😂 I'm going to make tea to go and take a Christmas-light-looking walk.
We bought large boxes with Velcro tops attached from Dollar General years ago. Large enough that they fit many gifts inside. We use these every year. No wrapping! Just tissue.
I printed this out and put in a binder, set it next to a small devotional, a bible and some pens, I can take in a few quiet moments to plan and pray, thank you so very much!
I have made your cute Oreo gift to our new neighbors as we just moved ealier this year … I also in included the recipe in some of my Christmas cards as well…and shared it with a few friends … it was just terrific 🥰thank you! ❤🎄😊~Angela
Definitely the snowman my son would love it I love these farm house. We drink our coffee or cocoa while he reads the Bible out loud since I had facial paralysis and a. Stroke 2 years ago and can’t see print yet . Love this channel and have really changed our apt doing a little at a time . Bless you and your family ❤ btw recipe works great with oat milk
the girl at our Dollar Tree said stock up on cards because Supposedly Hallmark is pulling them all soon and raising the prices with new cards..PSA. not sure if it is for all stores.
Thank you- i always come away from your videos feeling refreshed and inspired. I'm grateful for the content if your channels, they are time well spent. My God bless & keep you both and your families- and establish the work of your hands. ❤🎄☃️
I love the mug cake gift idea, it's perfect for my teen nephews & nieces to give with money. Each year I try and find a theme to include with their money gift and this is perfect - thanks so much for saving me some time. I wish I could do something nice for the both of you but I've already liked & subscribed! 💕🎄
Thank you ladies! Thx to last year's Christmas workshop, it was an amazing Christmas. This year I have streamlined even more, ordered personalized gifts and am almost done shopping in November! So December can be about time with friends and family. ❤
Love your videos! ❤ my family is wanting to add some faith centered traditions to this season (neither my husband nor I were raised in church). I’d love to watch a video where you share ideas of either traditions your family does or other ideas! I also appreciate your planning guide! ❤
Love all your fun ideas! One year I found the idea on Pinterest to have a Bethlehem dinner on Christmas Eve and it was so wonderful. We decorated our front room by placing blankets on the floor and our coffee table became the table with all of the food. We ate foods that the people in Bethlehem would have had for a meal. We also dressed in dressy clothes and bath robes to dress up like the people back in that time. We ended the night by reading my favorite book, God Bless Your Way by Emily Freeman.
I do the things that are important to me, but I spread them out over an extended period; outside lights go up in October (just don’t turn them on). I make my own Christmas cards but I make them the previous year in the week between Christmas and New Years. First draft of my Christmas letter is done in early November, takes a few minutes, even less to update it later. I address my cards a few at a time in the second half of November, it gives me time for personalized notes. I use cloth draw string bags I made from clearance seasonal fabrics. They last for years, I don’t need to remember to buy more each season. I didn’t adopt all of these things at once, they were added as a “to do” caused me stress. This extends my season in a good way and I can do all the tasks without resentment or stress. The same items get done but in 2-3 months not two weeks.
We are decorating a tree outside for the birds. We also love baking cut out cookies -the only activity my three teens leave their rooms for. I love wrapping gifts late Christmas Eve with a movie on and a lovely drink -an accidental tradition I have come to love.
Ordering groceries/presents during the Christmas program--been there!! Well, not ordering because I’m older than you two, but have filled out my lists! 😂💜 Love the idea to pick what my thing is and let some other stuff go. Thank you both!!
I have the means to give gift cards... so I give a gift card to a butcher that is 2 blocks from the school! They have prepackaged meals they could choose from after a long day. I hope the teachers like it. Idk, I like consumable presents that aren't clutter. :)
Thank you for validating my feeling on teachers and mugs. Anyone and mugs, actually, unless you know that that person needs a mug or wants a specific mug. It feels wrong to recommend to give cutesy seasonal mugs in one breath and "ruthlessly get rid of extra stuff you don't need" in another. Sorry, it feels WRONG
😂 I had the exact same thought! But put the ingredients and directions into a cellophane gift bag with a gc and they can use one of the 50 other mugs they have previously received.
I saw the cute snowman mugs in my dollar tree the other day and I was about to buy one but passed it up. Then I saw your video the other day, Dawn and thought how cute it was. Well, I have now visited three out of four dollar trees in my town and there are no snowmen to be found any longer. I can only wonder why. 😁 And, I didn’t see your tree mug either, Diana. It is a very sweet gift to give or receive. Love you both!
Diana if you like coconut milk, buy the can of full fat coconut milk (don’t get the lite) and use that for your Oreo mug cake. It should give you a similar texture to whole milk but it will have a little coconut taste. I love your videos! Thank you for the great info!
New cute movie this year: The Herdmans are absolutely the worst kids in the history of the world. They lie, they steal, they bully…and now they’ve hijacked the town Christmas pageant. Directed by Dallas Jenkins (“The Chosen”) and based on the international bestseller by Barbara Robinson, THE BEST CHRISTMAS PAGEANT EVER follows six siblings who sneak into church searching for snacks and walk away with the lead roles in the town pageant.
I read that book to my children, chapter by chapter, each night nearly 50 yr ago! Finally there's a movie! Thanks for mentioning that information. Thinking about that year brings a smile - sweet memory:).
We have simplified Christmas...we don't send Christmas cards and our decorations are simple: a 4 foot tree, (which stays fully decorated) that we cover with a large black bag and store in the closet, and a pretty mantel. I have Christmas bedding, but nothing else inside the house. We have a simple Nativity scene outside along with a lamp post and 4 carolers. Decorating takes less than 2 hours total. I only make fudge (regular and peanut butter) and oatmeal peanut butter candy. My husband and I are retired, so with our extra time we look for ways to bless others: friends, neighbors and strangers. We give our grown children and their spouses money (they love it) and our 10 grandchildren get small gifts, each one around $25 dollars.
Thank you for the free download, it's fabulous. My downfall, Oreo cookies. I refuse to let others buy them for me and I used to only allow myself one package a year. Truth, I won't share them either. So I have stopped buying them over the last maybe five years. This is sooooo tempting and it might get me into a heap of trouble. LOL I think they will make fabulous gifts (we don't do gifts in our family except for the little ones) but do little meaningful things for each other and everyone will know who they are from without me even signing a card. You both are wonderful and thank you again. Let Jesus be the reason for the season. We do for sure.
You could buy the Oreos and ration them out into ziplock bags for the mug cakes and see if the contents of one package could last you all of December. Have your family hide them for you around the house! If all goes well and you stay mindful of the Oreo cookie cakes, repeat in January!
Farm Fresh Trees mug ❤ thank you as always for bringing joy into this season 🎄 and all throughout the year ❤ you two gals are beautiful inside and out ❤
I’m going to try the Oreo mug cake! Looks delicious! The k you for all of the awesome tips! I have to tell you that when you said “strained relationships” in your prayer, I initially thought you said “strange relationships“ & I laughed out loud! I needed a good chuckle, I guess!
If I have to choose between the mugs I would choose the farm fresh tree farm…my 8 year old daughter would prob choose the snowman…but in my experience…teachers do not want more mugs. They have way more than they could manage and end up giving mugs to the thrift store.
I love this episode! I know the two of you are so busy pursuing your own businesses and lives, but I just love it when the two of you get together! It’s magical! I didn’t have a sister growing up and so I live vicariously, watching the two of you interact with each other!
I agree!! My sister is 16 years younger than me and we live in different states so watching these ladies makes my heart happy!
Oh thank you dear sisters in Christ ! I so needed to hear all of this ! Thank you so much for your prayer at the end. It really touched my heart! My daughter is really struggling right now, so I prayed with you - for her.
🙏💗🙏
Both are nice. but the red barn is the one that makes me think of Christmas.
I'm the snowman mug! Brings joy and can be left out for the entire winter season.

Dawn, I actually have that snowman coffee mug. It's a big coffee cup and perfect for winter. Thank you both for all the information. Such a blessing!

Farm fresh trees! We do a candle light dinner Christmas Eve. This has always been our tradition and the kids( all in their 20s) insist on it now

I say snowman ☃️ mug! I did a gift bag for my mom filled with a variety of cards. She's 86 and loves to send cards. She loved this gift.
Also, I would so happily sit in the back seat and drink coffee while y'all are filming 😊

I love watching this episode every year. I know it, but it's so good to be reminded as we are just getting started in it.

I couldn't either. I was hoping she had it posted so we could print it.
