Years later, finding out that Laura Bailey and Jerry Jewell both voiced the leads in Fruits Basket (2001 and 2019 versions) and Kodocha, makes me think they were more apart of my childhood than I even realized. lol Also I can't believe the lines here. "Mommy's got your naked picture" "Picture" These lines are so perfect. lol
This was the scene that convinced me that Kodocha was worth watching till the end, and I don't regret a second of it Well, maybe not for the USA arc in the second season
The manga is much more worth reading! No fourth wall breaking because of Babbit hahaha 😂 Kidding aside, there are so many chapters that were cut out from the anime and you wouldn't wanna miss out on it, so I encourage you to *READ IT*

Gave this anime a chance because Akito and Sana looked like Yuu and Miki from Marmalade Boy 😭 It’s a totally different story but a memorable one for me nonetheless

Stop comparing this to Kyoru they are two separate series both are really good and even if the voices are the same try to see Akito and Sana in this especially if they came before Tohru and Kyo
Kay. I revised it for accuracy. Note, you could just Google Fuka Matsui and read her wiki. But essentially, Akito stole Fuka's first kiss back in kindergarten because Akito was dared to. Fast forward to the future. Fuka has a crush on Takaishi and he listens to the rumours that Fuka's first kiss has been stolen and thinks she has a boyfriend so he gives up on her. Heartbroken, Fuka asks Akito to be her pretend boyfriend, which at some point, became a real thing since Fuka started to view Akito as a nice guy rather than a kiss thief. I believe Akito played along with her because he saw Sana in Fuka (they look alike lol) plus Sana spent so much time with Naozumi that he felt he had no chance of being with her (him being an ordinary guy and her being a popular actress). Kinda iffy on why Akito played along. But I think it went something like that. In short, I don't think Akito liked Fuka romantically due to him being very distant during their relationship and this distance and his eventual cold attitude similar to how he was in elementary school became the reason why Fuka asked Akito to break up with her in the manga.
I just miss these fun kind of shows nowadays we have dry female leads that just suck as characters overall, plz bring back the fun old Shoujo babiessssss ✨🥺

“Ah you look so cute with soda flying out of your nose” 😂 this was a huge part of my pre-teen life I use to sneak on the family desktop in the living room and stay up until 4am and then sneak back to bed on school days. I loved the show so much. ❤
They should have chosen someone with a more youthful voice for Akito. He sounds like a grown man. A pre-teen like Akito is supposed to be wouldn't have gone through puberty and got such a deep voice yet. Bad casting. It's not the VA's fault and there's nothing wrong with his skill. He's just miscast IMO.
