I like the pics and video but I wish it was a surprise to everyone what they see when they do the Camino. Down side of technology is there are no more surprises.
Did you have to book your accommodations ahead of time or could you just show up at a gite or place and find a place to stay? When I did the camino francais in Spain we just showed up at an albergue, but I heard that it's different in France.
It is not necessary, although most people do book ahead. Sadly, this creates a culture where people get a bit stressed and start booking 2-3 (or even more) days in advance. Unlike in Spain there are no big accommodations, most of them can hold +- 10 people. If you want to be sure that you don't miss out on a place like 'Le Sauvage' or 'L'Alchimiste' in Naverrenx, I'll advice to book ahead. In this camino I booked one day in advance till Cahors, after Cahors I didn't book anything, always managed to find a great spot! Last September I went back to do the Le Puy-Conques part. Managed to do so without booking a day in advance, and again: it worked out fine!
@@janmol Okay, thank you so much. I like the fact that you should just go with the flow and trust the camino and not book ahead. I will take your advice on those two places you mentioned. Buen camino.
@@123benny4 I've never found such a thing. If there is a list it most be a long one because there are a lot of gîtes you can find along the way! I really recommend buying the Miami Miami DoDo guidebook, all the information you need regarding the route, accommodations, waterpoints, etc. is in there. It is in French but very easy to understand, also for non French speakers/readers. In the Le Puy cathedral is a shop where you can find it ;)
Awesome adventure.
So beautiful and wonderful ❤
Lovely, really enjoyed watching.
Nice video. Brought back many memories. Well done,
Merci pour ce joli film qui me rappelle de bons souvenirs.
Complimenti! Bravo!
I can’t wait and looking forward for the Camino Frances part , Jan!

@@janmol Thank you very much. Can you tell me if the office in Le Puy gives out a list of the gites for pilgrims?

@@janmol Thanks again for the information. I'll look for the book in Le Puy. I'm in Montreal, QC, so French is my second language. No problems there.
