- The Skyflow is a brand new premium neutral daily trainer from HOKA and the Fleet Feet Review Team put it to the test.
It uses a super-critical EVA foam compound, similar to the Mach 6, making advancements to the traditional EVA compounds used in the Bondi and Clifton and combines it with the geometry of the Skyward X offering a extra-cushy, springy ride with a supportive frame and smooth forefoot rocker profile.
This daily trainer is going to launch exclusively at run-speciality stores, like Fleet Feet on 7/15.

Novablast 4 vs Skyflow please!!!! Both has same stack, same rocker, same bouncy foams
This shoe is basically a combination of mach, clifton and bondi. Also an early stage rocker alternative to the skyward x which is late stage (more designed for recovery). The scf eva tends to be more firm compared to the standard eva in clifton, its also got a bit more of a stable base
Would love a comparison between the Skyflow and Topo Atmos. The specs are similar and they are the same price.
I thought I heard this shoe was in between the Bondi and Clifton? But from what you said, it's a combination of Clifton and Mach instead.
Good point! We initially heard that the shoe would be between the Bondi and Clifton, but after the Fleet Feet Review Team put miles in the shoe, we almost all found the underfoot feel and ride to be more of a mixture between the Mach and the Clifton, especially given the Supercritical EVA, while the stack height lends itself closer to the Bondi.
I love it. I tried it on and it’s my size. Very comfy. Better than Clifton 9. I have both and love the snowflo. I got the black and white
Is this stable enough for those who overpronate?
While it's not a stability shoe per say, the Fleet Feet Review Team did find the shoe to be quite stable to do the firmer, more responsive foam and wide base. - Max
I can see Hoka trying to move the Clifton away from the running segment and more lifestyle athleisure. It's not really going against the Mach based on the ride, they are trying to get the first time half marathon and marathon runners who don't want 3 shoe rotations for everything.
I had Bondi, moved to mach 5, was going to replace with mach 6 but now I’m just confused
This one might sit right in the middle of those two shoes you mentioned. Give it a try at your local Fleet Feet.
Is it as narrow as the Mach ?
I would love to see this compared to the New Balance Rebel V4.
We think there are some big differences between those two shoes. For one, we put the Rebel v4 in the uptempo daily trainer category while we put the Skyflow in the more classic daily trainer category. With that being said the biggest difference will come from the midsole and underfoot feel. The Rebel v4 may feel a bit more peppy and bouncy due to the PEBA-blended FuelCell foam while the Skyflow uses a Supercritical EVA. The Skyflow will also have a higher stack height and will weight a bit more than the Rebel v4.
Thanks for the insight! Much appreciated.
I'm a Bondi fan who does about 20 or so road miles a week. How does this shoe compare to the Bondi?
It's somewhat comparable. A bit less stack height than the Bondi, resulting a peppier, more responsive ride underfoot. - Max
When will the shoe be available at fleet feet?
7/15.
Same fit than skyward x or ½ size up?
Is it softer than More V5 or Novablast 4?
How does it compare the Skyward X?
The Skyflow took inspiration from the geometry of the Skyward X, especially its rocker shape. The Skyward X with it's carbon fiber plate and PEBA-based midsole will give it a bit more propulsion and bounce than the Skyflow, while the Skyflow may feel a bit more firm and stable. - Max
..this shoe has me a bit intrigued. I might even go as so far as to try it on...?
Try it at your local Fleet Feet on 7/15!
Try em. They good
The mach isn't that great for long days recovery, so I will trybthis cus the clifton 9 isn't that cushioned imo
Sky flow vs hurricane 24
Hi this hoka skyflow can HM? Or FM
We think it would be great for both! - Max
@@fleetfeet699 thanks for reply, which one better for LSD , skyflow or skyward? Pace 6,7
they dont have it in store
Coming 7/15.
Interesting but seems like HOKA just keeps adding more & models that are combos of what they already have. I’m a Mach guy myself.
So… this is a new Bondi then?🤔
The Bondi will update in 2025, we believe. - Max
No, not at all. Bondi 9 looks epic though
Better stick with the cheaper lightweight Mach 6
Completely unnecessary shoe. It's all marketing targeting Hoka fans with extra cash (or no cash) because Hoka knows they would buy them.
To me this seems like a shoe for people who enjoy the Mach 6 but want a little more cushioning for long runs that isn't as soft as something like the Clifton, but lighter than the Bondi. Plus there seems to be many complaints about the narrowness of the Mach 6 which this seems to fix being a wider more accommodating shoe for the bulk of one's training/easy miles. However; I do see where you're coming from in that someone who might already own the Mach 5/6 and the Clifton might not necessarily need something like this in their rotation.
You haven’t run in this shoe. So be silent, you have no idea what you are talking about. It’s great, way better for me to run in than Clifton or Mach. 150 miles in and it’s a winner.
@@davidrosenthal5795 That's great to hear they've been holding up well for you! Really looking forward to getting a pair on my feet when they release in July 🙂
I actually respectfully complete disagree for years and I mean years everyone and their mom is complaining about hoka using old school EVA in their shoes.
When brands are using pedax, TPU and all these fancy foams in their shoes like ZOOMX,POWERRUNPB,etc
This is hoka’s effort to get back on the map
Guilty. ☝️ I'll probably buy em. Lol
Can Hoka just hire someone else for the actual aesthetic of the shoe? Who thinks of these color ways?!
This is what the bondi should have be
