  • Two mechanically minded teams have to design and build fire engines. They are given £1000 and two days to make their machines work. They are then challenged to race their fire engines around a course and putting out fires. In a flurry of water and fire both vehicles complete the course with mere seconds between them, but can they beat the flames to get the money?
Over two days, and with a limited budget and materials, two teams attempt to build a vehicle which will help them travel to a safe in a seemingly inaccessible location. On the third day, the teams race their vehicles towards the safe. The teams pick up the safe's combination, with the first team to arrive entering the combination, and taking home the contents of the safe - £5,000 in cash!

Great part about the droid's run is that it shows the reality of getting the job done, no matter what. Basically a firemen motto. That's the way we do.

If there were a database for projects like this people wanted built for their own uses, that would be great!! You'd be making something cool that will get real usage long term.

Building robots for fun and competition is great but can they build and design on time? That's the big question with those guys. The other team is experienced in their field my money is on them on this challenge build. The robot guys have a problem keeping their pump from sucking air when the water gets too low and can't push it up hill to feed the pump continuously. I think it might lose prime on the pump and quit on them. the other team might be over building theirs and never finish on time too. Close race. The guys with the low tank could have just built a stand for their tank to sit on instead of raising to the roof. Just higher than the pump intake is all they needed here. So the water runs down hill to the pump. Also they need a primer air vent to allow the water pressure to feed into the pump without locking in the air to the intake of the pump. Little problems can make a big mess out of this deal. Well lost my vote on the show due to foul language goodbye. I think the droids pulled it off for the lowest time. Not hiring a censor to beep out the language cost you a viewer.
