There are a few debuts of young batsmen which stick with you. Alastair Cook's composure, Khawaja showing his elegance for a couple of starts in Sydney, Phil Hughes getting a duck and then going even harder in the second innings, Haseeb Hameed's technique, Konstas taking down Bumrah probably tops the lot.

I've been watching cricket for the last 21 years. Only afridi didn't care about a bowler's reputation as much as Konstas doesn't. This debut I'll never forget. I am Konstas' fan till the sun burns out.
I think that Australia are well and truly ahead in this game and the series after notching up over 300 runs in a day. I think that it is very unlikely that India comeback in this game. India hasn't scored over 200 in their first innings in around 75% of their matches in 2024. Today too they let the game drift away from them in the morning. Konstas' controlled aggression against Bumrah was a sight to behold and his intent has put Australia on the cusp of winning the series.
Controlled? This guy was living on the edge, and it came off. Before and after every audacious shot he played, there were 2-3 false shorts where he looked awful. As Jarrod mentioned, he could have gotten out multiple times in that duration. I'm not taking anything away from him, it just came off this time. I hope it works for him from here on but the possibility of that is almost equivalent to the possibility of a good outcome in each shot he played.
I was freaking stunned the echos of gilly laughing out of sudden surprise simultaneously to me when Sam first hit the shot still echoes in my head. Will Rohit give jadeja the first over now?😂

@ Exactly. He should aim to be better than England and India, which Australians actually are. Shouldn’t get sucked into this timid approach of Indians and over expressive approach of English. Find your own sweet spot.
Depends how they treat him. This is the "Bazball" mentality and when it goes wrong, it can be as spectacular. If the first one he missed had hit the stumps or been nicked behind, they'd probably have slated him. Our media want the exciting spectacular innings and the safety. Someone bought me your book for Christmas. Can I have a refund ? (Joke, I asked for it !)

You can tell how much a RUclipsr relies on Indian cricket fans by how far they’ll stretch and contort the facts to pander to Virat Kohli…by your language, I’d say you’re utterly dependent, JK
True. Kohlis a pure bully with a weak mental game. He has to resort such antics cause he can’t perform well. Kohli needs to stick to making shampoo ads
Pls make a video about Sam’s second innings. Pls. 🤣🤣🤣 His technique has just been exposed. Being the number 1 bowler isn’t fluke but reverse scoop is. I wonder if Sam would say that he wants to face Bumrah again now. Throwing your bat isn’t a sign of a good batsman. He got 60 odd runs and did upset Bumrah. But how many did he middle the bat? 49% Look how Bumrah upset him. Place 2 fielders in 3rd man and fine leg. The ramp goes into hibernation.
I thought Aus liked Virat because of his aggression and playing like ‘Aussies’. I don’t know what has changed? Will Aussies be the nice guys in cricket from now onwards?
Aussies have been nice guys since the sandpaper incident. Both Paine and Cummins are chill. Virat on the other hand isn’t just aggressive when he breaches the rules and spirit of the game to shoulder barge a rookie with an obviously premeditated and intentional act to intimidate. Aussies don’t respect Kohli and the crowd chants will tell you that. The fact that the money from BCCI got him off so lightly does not help - Kohli clearly isn’t willing to take responsibility for his actions and the BCCI has no intention to let their players have to face any serious consequences.
@SSVTERMINAL oh sorry, I assumed you were joking when you said there was nothing in a 36 year old hothead charging into an area of the field he didn't belong in and shoulder barging a 19 year old debutant. Because nobody with a brain would actually believe that
@SSVTERMINAL He very clearly moved from his line to go into his path, not to mention Sam cant move away otherwise he'd be walking on the pitch. Its nothing super terrible dont get me wrong, but its not becoming of a senior player to behave in that way. But like Sam said himself, what happens on the pitch stays there, he clearly didnt pay it much mind. Match officials will at most fine him half his game salary and let him know to not repeat that again and we all move on. Not that big of a deal in my opinion, just disappointing. Really proud of Sam though, played his own game and didnt let anyone get in his head. I loved how after Siraj gave him some chatter he hit him for 4 and walked right up to him, good competitive kid.
@David-rf8fb I don't think so. he was just walking directly to his fielding position, and just before the collision you can both slightly turn away from each other and both probably expected no contact but the shoulder contact probably made them think the other did it on purpose. Just a misunderstanding.
