How do we explain Jehu remembering the prophecy of Elijah against the house of Ahab after the death of Naboth. Jehu then executed his mission according to the prophecy by destroying the house of Ahab and throwing Jezebel down
He was moved by the Holy Spirit. If you remember the story, he only swung into action AFTER he was anointed as king. The timing was right, and heaven was ready to move ! I can almost assure you that before Jehu, many others who heard that prophecy would have tried to fulfill that prophecy by their own strength. They would think God would back them since He has already said it would happen. But such attempts only end up in embarrassing failure ! ! If you hear a prophecy, and you try to fulfill it by your own strength, you are courting disaster. You should rather continue to seek the face of God for guidance even after receiving the prophecy. That God said something will happen does NOT mean anyone who tries to make that thing happen will automatically succeed.
