Weight savings shouldn’t be mentioned all that much being as 11lbs is nothing in car terms. If weight savings is the goal drop the power seats and get manual ones or carbon buckets
Mr. Damien, what an exceptional video, beautiful camera work and perfect editing. You really hit the nail on the head telling us why this car is so appealing. You've set the bar very high on how to piece together a new car collection video. Well done!
Thank you so much for your feedback, Je S . I’ve seen a few quite poor collection vids recently so I wanted to try and make this one as good as possible. Hopefully we’ve hit the mark judging by these kind comments.
Great collection video...love the Porsche T. I'm loving my new 718 Cayman with the competition exhaust and 20" black Carrera S alloys. Good luck and look forward to further videos with your new T. 😎
I also got a Carrera T and love it! BTW I'm afraid your T may not have the lightweight glass. If you get Privacy Glass (as yours appears to have) or a rear defroster, the lightweight glass (LWG) gets replaced with the standard glass. In any case, a fantastic car and great video. Congrats!
Just found his channel via STG, spent the last few days binge watching the back videos and really enjoyed them (and so subscribed), it's refreshing to have two 'vloggers' bouncing off each other with informative yet light hearted content, keep up the good work guys, looking forward to the next one.
I'm sure you already know but this months Octane has a feature on Gordon Murray and his Classic car collection (Inc his own Rocket) as well as a review/ Drive of the Rocket - thought you should get a copy for your book/ Magazine collection. Cheers
Nice video. I liked your detailed comments on the sound, handling, and steering. If you have the opportunity in future, I’d suggest moving up from the 911T to the 911R or (even better IMHO) the 991.2 GT3 with manual and Touring Package. Then, instead of GT2RS (which has several very good competitors ... 720S, Pista, Performante, etc.), get a Singer (which has very few real competitors and will deliver a completely different experience to the modern cars). Of course, they are all great cars!
Very nice indeed. If I had the money a Porsche would be my first sports car and I’d buy it from that specific dealership as it’s local to me. Car goals!
Another lovely car for the collection. Big Porsche fan and on my third (Boxster) as they just do everything so well and it’s difficult to change to something else! That car would look good next to that GT2 RS...
Honest question here, but what is the appeal of the 911T over a .2 GTS? They're similar weight, yet the GTS has the wider body, 80hp more, centrelock wheels, and practically the same price.
I think that's what those that have bought a T are hoping for, but I can't see it happening. I love Porsche (on my 5th!), but the T to me is just a parts bin car, bought by those who are hoping to line the dealers pockets ready for the next GT models.
I'm interested in the T as well, but I think Porsche should have bumped it up to 400 hp to make it a bit more special compared to the base Carrera because 400-450 hp is the sweet spot for a true driver's car, which makes the GTS a slightly better option, in my opinion. But still, the T is a desirable recipe, to be sure, and the agate gray accents really look nice, although I'll never own a black car again., as they are way too fussy to keep looking good, especially for a daily driver.
I have just notched up my first service from new in my base 911 Carrera. It is by far, the best car I have owned or driven. I do think the lower specced cars in the 911 range are perhaps more evocative of older 911's. Yes, it has electronic toys, which make long (1000mile days) enjoyable. it also has enough trickery to help keep you on the black stuff, pointing in the right direction, but, for me, I don't need 4 wheel drive, rear axle steering, or even the SPASM suspension. I am not interested in the "sport exhaust" as it does not add any power, or light weight glass. Indeed, I have not yet felt that I need any more power than the base offers. I even went for the smallest wheels, for comfort on long trips. I am also quite confident that racing over local mountain passes, or even around a circuit, the biggest difference in times between even the base or a T against a GT3 / GT2 RS would be the driver. Even the base models are so bloody capable!!!
Lovely motor mate, do love Porsche. I had a Cayman S and absolutely loved it. Also i see Romans have now reduced that blue GT2 RS to £485k (from £535k). Are you tempted? lol. Absolute the beast but still like 250k over list. Ouch!!! I dont think i could bring myself to do it!
Which black color is that? I can’t decide on regular vs jet black. I feel like jet black looks nicer when it’s clean but it becomes faded looking when not clean. The regular black looks darker. What do you think?
OOO YOu lucky boys! That's what I'd have if I could...Henry Catchpole's review of this is super. I have a gen1 Cayman 987 2.7 6 speed with PASM and Sports Chrono ... interestingly its nicest to drive in standard mode.. all gets a bit harsh with the sport button pushed even tho the throttle response is quicker, even if you leave the dampers in soft mode..it came with 19" wheels and I also now have the original 17" which allow 50/55 back/front profile tyres - steering and ride quality much improved.
I think the T makes a good all round car, even a daily driver. How much of an impulse buy - did u order it or was in dealer stock and u simply call and collect?
It was a total impulse buy - last minute dealer stock, Porsche factory shutdown limited supply, interesting new model, saw TGE’s, and finally just thought it looked cool.
Nice one. BTW - lovely though the GT2RS is, it’s not worth paying anything like the asking. Other RUclipsrs lust after the Porsche GTs. Why not be different and get some cars built by aftermarket modifiers or restorers. You can order a bespoke built Singer Porsche for that money and have a car to your own design and specification, and no other RUclipsrs have one. Or why don’t you buy an Alpina - for example the B3 is awesomely quick, not that expensive and few other RUclips garages have them. Or the Jensen Interceptor R Supercharged built by Jensen International Automotive - that is one handsome car.
they won't give a fuck look at the new chiron sport 1.3m USD more expensive than the base chiron, and only 38kg lighter XD yeah if you want to buy a light porsche you need to BUY a light porsche ;)
Way too much technology. For the "T" version, Porsche should have got rid of the stupid dial on the steering wheel, made it a 6 speed transmission and eliminated the ridiculous rev matching nonsense. Get rid of the silly center touch screen too. Bring it back to a pure driving experience. Just my two cents.
after the warranty is over and you have to dish out 3 ,000 bucks on the water pump and when your turbos go to shit and a few other engine problems you will see how beautiful your porsche is .
keeping buying porsches at the rate you are and I am sure there will be invites in the future! or buy the next hyper car they sell and get invites for life. A strange system they have like ferrari
Built for the driving purist but Porsche doesn't think they deserve RED brake calipers... WTF? This car could have been so good. Rear seat delete with the bucket seat option is awesome though!
I must be the only person who doesn’t really care about the colour of brake calipers. I think deleting the rear seats on a T would be a mistake as it kills the everyday usability
An interesting question, ukbondraider. I’ve never fancied one. I’ve driven them at Hethel, but they’ve never left a lasting impression. I did come v close to a special edition JPS special Elise at Westover Spirts Cars - close but no cigar. Maybe I need to get into an Exige for a test drive
Tbh all 911 cars are afforable but it is suprising fast and luxurious for the price. Edit: I found out that used 911's are cheaper. The one in the video was brand new so it might've costed around 100k
depending how you spec it, the car is hardly lighter than a regular 911, added that you are a big guy, it really hardly makes a difference. i worked for an importer myself, and i have to say the T is just a gimmick
Weight savings shouldn’t be mentioned all that much being as 11lbs is nothing in car terms. If weight savings is the goal drop the power seats and get manual ones or carbon buckets
Agree, although he did say that net savings included suspension upgrades unavailable on the base that added wt iirc.
the 911 T + manual 'box is a real gem
It sure is
Mr. Damien, what an exceptional video, beautiful camera work and perfect editing. You really hit the nail on the head telling us why this car is so appealing. You've set the bar very high on how to piece together a new car collection video. Well done!

black is wonderfull!! very nice 991 T and thanks for your feeling
Great collection video...love the Porsche T. I'm loving my new 718 Cayman with the competition exhaust and 20" black Carrera S alloys. Good luck and look forward to further videos with your new T. 😎
Thanks, Mike - very kind of you
would be interesting if you could talk about the car market, investment cars and business advice aswell cheers
That is something we could look to do, from our own car collecting/ buying experience, Tom
Congrats!
Really? I didn’t know that - thanks for letting me know
Amazing car! Love mine! Congrats 🙌🙌🙌
Thanks, mate
TGE TV hate the wheels on yours 😏
Charming! - play nice
TheCarGuys.TV your spec is top notch i hope you manage to get a GT2 RS or GT3 RS in the near future. ✌🏼
change your wheels

Dudemania3000 Yep I’ve already bought it, thanks

Great suggestions, H B - I am planning on getting an R and a GT3.2. The Singers are rarer than hens teeth but work pursuing
Interesting choice, be good to see some videos after you’ve had it a while. Cheers 👍
I really enjoy your videos guys, great mix of information and sense of humour! Thumbs up!
Thanks
Nice! Used to work at Imagine Publishing back in the day Damian, never knew you had such an incredible car collection!
It was much smaller then 😀
Then I guess Future was good for one thing hahaha. All the best, this is a great channel, subscribed
Very nice indeed. If I had the money a Porsche would be my first sports car and I’d buy it from that specific dealership as it’s local to me. Car goals!
I’m sure they’d welcome you with open arms, LemonJelly360
Love the channel! Live right near you guys, hopefully get to see one of the cars one day. If I’m blessed anyway!
You never know, Ryan 😀
Haha, just noticed you guys must be based near me, will keep an eye out for the cars!
So twin turbo 4.3second but more expensive? Should I go with the Cayman GTS or should I keep saving for the better??
7:08 freudian slip hehe
Easy tiger 😀
Another lovely car for the collection. Big Porsche fan and on my third (Boxster) as they just do everything so well and it’s difficult to change to something else! That car would look good next to that GT2 RS...
Wouldn’t it just 😀
Great video again, i love the way you film and edit. Congratulations with all the new subscribers!
Thanks, Andrew - much appreciated my friend
Nice Carrera T, congrats. If the upcoming Speedster is a limited production run it might be worth adding.
If I could, I would
do not change your ways guys this format is amazing
Thanks, Tom - glad you like it. We won’t be changing
Great video, I can see this channel going places
Cheers, Joe - we hope it will and we’re working hard to make it happen.
Absolutely brilliant Damien, health to enjoy and keep her between the hedges!
From Belfast 🇬🇧 🇬🇧 👍 💪 ✌️ 🍻
Fantastic comment, Jonathan - best so far. Glad you liked it
I just bought a rear tyre for my Corolla! So excited! Going to unveil it on my channel! Oh I don’t have a channel. Curses!
I’d subscribe
Honest question here, but what is the appeal of the 911T over a .2 GTS? They're similar weight, yet the GTS has the wider body, 80hp more, centrelock wheels, and practically the same price.
Slizz Dizzle I'm assuming the T will hold its value better.
I think that's what those that have bought a T are hoping for, but I can't see it happening. I love Porsche (on my 5th!), but the T to me is just a parts bin car, bought by those who are hoping to line the dealers pockets ready for the next GT models.
Slizz Dizzle Could probably also argue that the car is almost like a baby 'R', but as you said a GTS seems to be an all round better car.
T is 106k base price. GTS is 120k. You could argue why not get the GT3 if getting GTS
centrelock wheels are a gimmick and extra hassle with no benefits for road car
Very nice in black. Very elegant and aggressive at the same time. And on the plus side, it’s a manual. Congrats
Cheers, dude
Congrats on your 911 Tubes!
I'm interested in the T as well, but I think Porsche should have bumped it up to 400 hp to make it a bit more special compared to the base Carrera because 400-450 hp is the sweet spot for a true driver's car, which makes the GTS a slightly better option, in my opinion. I can’t fault your logic there, D LG . Black is a real pain to keep clean and 400bhp would be preferred. Porsche - are you listening?
Looks great on camera and in the flesh. Time to explore the range me thinks
Absolutely
I absolutely love your channel your passion for cars matches mine right down to your specs bravo guys congrats on 20k subs way more to come I am sure
Thank you very much for those kind words - great to have you on board

Can’t argue with anything you’ve said here my friend
SPASM???
Soham Parab
Sports PASM (Porsche Adaptive Suspension Mgmt.). Available only in 911s and 718s. Different from PASM found in Macan.
Great car, congrats from my side. Would be my choice as ministry of interior would allow a second one...
Kudos ... any 911 with old school ethos is great
Very interesting video. Looking forward to your next video already!
Nice one, Tukington
Beautiful car ......but at 1455kg and 370 BHP that’s 258HP/Ton . That makes you appreciate the older 911s being so light .
Yes it does
Lovely motor mate, do love Porsche. I had a Cayman S and absolutely loved it. Also i see Romans have now reduced that blue GT2 RS to £485k (from £535k). Are you tempted? lol. Absolute the beast but still like 250k over list. Ouch!!! I dont think i could bring myself to do it!
I’m well into the Porsche now, John. Glad to have you aboard. I think the Romans one is still too steep for me, so I agree with you.
535k for a paddle shifted porsche with electric steering??
a CGT is much more focused and precise
Which black color is that? I can’t decide on regular vs jet black. I feel like jet black looks nicer when it’s clean but it becomes faded looking when not clean. The regular black looks darker. What do you think?
This is jet black, which I prefer
Can you select the sport mode to be saved for the individual mode?
“Just got back to Car Guys HQ” 350 miles on the clock 🤣 which route did you take?!?
The long one 😂😂😂
Looking stunning! Congratulations
Cheers, Almostgfx . It is a cool looking car
"Blip..... blip...." LOL
OOO YOu lucky boys! That's what I'd have if I could...Henry Catchpole's review of this is super. Is it possible for Porsche to do a real weight saver 911, perhaps around 200-300lbs rather than just 20lbs?
myke venable of course it is - we just need to all shout loud enough
they won't give a fuck
look at the new chiron sport
1.3m USD more expensive than the base chiron, and only 38kg lighter XD
yeah if you want to buy a light porsche you need to BUY a light porsche ;)
Very good video, can't wait for the next one.
Thanks, Jan
The Steering Wheel is on the wrong side of the car, my friend.
Best Regards from Germany.
Very Fortunate Man....Good for you mate!.....;)
Thanks, Brett
Superb , just Nice Spec ~ Long Road Trip ". 🚔
Isn't it just 20kg lighter than a normal Carrera? And that's without A/C and a stereo?
Congratulations😎👏
Looks great pal good wheel choice
Blue Sky cheers
How is it that this has less power than the 996 911 turbo?
Because the engine is smaller ? Just a guess ...im no expert.
Not an ass man! That's a first lol congrats man
Also it sounds like the 956 race car
Way too much technology. For the "T" version, Porsche should have got rid of the stupid dial on the steering wheel, made it a 6 speed transmission and eliminated the ridiculous rev matching nonsense. Get rid of the silly center touch screen too. Bring it back to a pure driving experience. Just my two cents.
Porsche should take note. The T is interesting, but what about something properly lightweight & fun for the masses?
This car will be the collections mileage champion
Great film! How the f*** do you afford all of these awesome cars?
A lot of pain and stress
Since when is 1500kg light I have a turbo supra and always thought its heavy hah!
Sally from Cars is modeled of a real life Porsche 911 Carrera T.
Congratulations with you 911!
Thanks, Per
after the warranty is over and you have to dish out 3 ,000 bucks on the water pump and when your turbos go to shit and a few other engine problems you will see how beautiful your porsche is .
gianni300rpm I mean, this is just scaremongering horseshit!
I will only ever buy second hand, third hand, or fourth hand porsches. Buying brand new is ludacris!
A bit like your spelling 😀
does it have the same no lift shifting the gt3 has?
If I'm going to pay that fortune. I better get the guy at 1:44 to spend overnight at the hotel room with me.
Elliott - get your coat, you’ve pulled
TheCarGuys.TV He is something isnt he. Id like to tickle him.
We dont have to guess, you put the model in the title of this video...
Lovely Car nice video though I prefer my 911 Turbo S 2017 Good luck Enjoy it Bless
That’s an awesome car - I had one myself
Great review
Nice car ,is it 4 wd ?
No two wheel drive, but rear wheel steer
one step closer to getting invited to those gt3's ;D
Wouldn’t that be nice?
keeping buying porsches at the rate you are and I am sure there will be invites in the future! or buy the next hyper car they sell and get invites for life. A strange system they have like ferrari
Definitely the most beautiful 911 t ! Congrats
Great spec!
Superb informative review
Thanks, Matthew - really appreciate it

Love that 911T 👍👍👍
nice ring mate
For such an excellent collection of cars why do you not have a Lotus? Lotus Evora or Exige.....
Have a look at the Exige 410 Sport or 430. Have a go at an Evora 430GT (limited edition) whilst you are there. Superb collection by the way.
Great Video!!!!
Thanks, mate
1500 kg isnt light and you dont even get a door handle.
lovely car , enjoy it . Benny spain.
Love the 911 T
All that weight saving applications and it only weighs about 20 lbs less than a standard Carrera.
Not if you add the options on the T to the standard Carrera, then the gap is larger, but I agree - perhaps not as large as it could be
A manual; perfect choice.
Goe Bann 😴
Tbh all 911 cars are afforable but it is suprising fast and luxurious for the price.
Edit: I found out that used 911's are cheaper. The one in the video was brand new so it might've costed around 100k
Sad when a “lightweight” 911 is 1500kg’s.
I agree. Just looking at the stats of all the other cars in the collection made me realise just what a relative porker it is
Very tastefully specced
I've watched this far too many times in a year.
Good on you 👍👍👍
One can dream
Always. Then work hard to make it a reality
I definitely want one!!!
It is awesome.
Deactivate the auto blip in sport plus for the purist in you
Cool car.
Awesome !
1500Kg......light? 😆
Only 1500 kgs? That's not light at all.
In modern 911s it is, but let’s face it - it’s still too heavy. Porsche needs to go back to 1100kg cars
Do you still have this car Damian?
No, I traded it for the GT3 Touring
depending how you spec it, the car is hardly lighter than a regular 911, added that you are a big guy, it really hardly makes a difference. i worked for an importer myself, and i have to say the T is just a gimmick
I’m not THAT big!
Don’t you have to run the engine in on these?
You don’t, but I tend to anyway
Woah hes driving on the wrong side of the road
Love the car, not a fan of the seats.
