Informative presentation. Additional points: Christ Himself appointed James as the first bishop of Jerusalem, a position he held for 30 years. Also, the Acts of the Apostles clearly shows that James presided over the Church's first council, the Apostolic Council (also called the Council of Jerusalem) in 51 AD. Thus, sacred scripture REFUTES the Latin Church's FALSE teaching that the Apostle Peter presided over that council as a pope (one of many examples of how Rome twists Scripture to support its heresies). Not only did Peter NOT preside over that council, but he was SUMMONED to the council BY THE OTHER APOSTLES to explain why he had DEVIATED from the faith. Peter then publicly RECANTED his ERROR. These facts clearly REFUTE Rome's false doctrines of papal supremacy and papal infallibility. The source of those false doctrines is "the father of lies" (JN 8:44), the devil. Addendum: I was formerly a Roman Catholic and a student at a Jesuit seminary. God's providence arranged for me to encounter Eastern Orthodoxy, and I received a baptism in the historical ROCOR--in fact, in the very stream where St. Herman of Alaska fished for salmon. Converting to Orthodox Christianity is the best move anyone can make in life. This is the ancient Church established by Christ and the Apostles, and it has grace in it, whereas the Latin church is totally devoid of grace.

He wasn’t our most holy Theotokos son. St. James was the son from Joseph’s first wife.

@@gladyselisagonzalez6096no, i think everyone believes this, since our most holy Theotokos is forever a virgin
the roman catholics give her the title of "Wife of the holy spirit" which is bizarre, and foreign.

No he was the son of Mary. Mary was virgin when she gave birth to Christ but had children after that. Research what virgin and maiden mean in Hebrew, the actual language of Christ and your eyes will be opened to so much. The Hebrew language and interpretation is the key to TRUELY understanding the bible and Messiah Yeshua's teachings

    Merry Christmas Mr Narrator.
Tomorrow, God willing, I will be attending my 3rd Liturgy. I am so grateful for these videos. They were the first I came across when first looking for Orthodoxy. May the Lord bless you as you have blessed me so much. Christ is Risen

You are correct. Joseph the husband of Mary, was a widower who had sons and daughters; of whom St. James was one. Mary the Mother of God, remained a Virgin before, during and after Christ's birth. She is our EVER VIRGIN, our Most Holy Mother of God, as prophesied in the Old Testament!

You have Nazerine and Nazerite confused.

The Nazarenes were a sect of 1st century Jews and Early Christians of whom James was one. The Nazirites were a similar sect and were mentioned in the book of Numbers.
