Fab video. I lost my female budgie last week, she was almost 10 years old when she died. The male Tommy, went off his food, became quiet(totally) until I got another male as a companion. He slowly started to eat again and sing to the radio. Both look interested and friendly towards each other, presently they are in separate cages until the new budgie gets used to his surroundings. I can now go to bed at night, when Tommy went so listless I stayed up all night with him. Please no adverse comments to that. Totally loved watching this
daniel i have some questions! hopefully you anserwe. 1 how many budgies you have? 2 how many years have you worked with them? 3 is it hard? 4 how many babies are born each month? 5 should i take your advice? 6 do you love this job? 7 is it realy REALY loud? 8 do they get on your nerves? 9 how many cages are there? 10 how much money have you wasted on taking care of them?
They're bred mostly for show, which is why the video is showing off the ones that would be good in a show situation. The budgies without all the poof are how they naturally are in the wild.
'm a legally Blind female who created this page in honor of all my past & current pets. Pets grieve just as all people do. I've rescued, nurtured, cared for over 22 pets in my life time. They in turn enhanced my life emencely! I don't have many friends, but my pets fill that gap just fine. A grieving animal always makes us sad., yet it's more sad to see them grieve for one another.
Chernbyl STALKER A lot of the time they don't. Those are English Budgies, typically bred for show. They typically end up having eye and respiratory problems because of the feathers blocking their nose and eyes.
These are certainly some very fancy birds and this breeder has obviously put a great deal of care, time, and money into them, but I have some reservations about the breeding of show budgies. It seems that with show budgies, it's mostly all about the plumage and I can't help but wonder how healthy that is for the bird. All that fluffy forehead plumage makes me wonder if the bird's vision is effected, and I know that sometimes, when trying to achieve all of these desired features, people go overboard with the breeding and cause some birds to be born as "feather dusters," which is a very bad deformity for the little bird and causes many serious health issues including shortened life-span or even a fairly immediate death. Anyway, having said all of that , I enjoyed watching the feeding routine and all the effort that this person has put into his birds. He appears to be very passionate about them, and they are indeed very beautiful.
This video keeps saying how these birds are specially bred and win shows, but to me they look so scruffy! (They look old and sickly). Funny how that works. The colors we get in the U.S. are considerably more vibrant.
It is possible but if the female is an english budgie the babies will be english budgies, if the female is an Australian budgie the babies will be Australian budgies

Birds eat soil?
I'm thinking of getting two English Budgies/Parakeets. Is it okay to keep two males together in a cage?
Løvely Bean they should get along. Unless you get a female. Otherwise i think youd be fine. If they fight you can always just get a second cage
