I was there for a week in 2016. A great beach destination. Lots of traditional Vietnam restaurants and cafes about. No big western chain places. I highly recommend.
I have lived in NT for 16yrs and married to Vietnamese, its a beautiful city and beach.People are very friendly and the food is very tasty. We need more tourism since Covid,so we welcome you all.
Nha Trang REALLY needs to build pedestrian crossings over or under the road. It is so dangerous going on and off the beach there. Cars do not stop for you even when you are in the crosswalk.
The city has good value accommodation and the beach is ok. I would not recommend diving or snorkelling in Vietnam as its much better in the Philippines. The hazards locally there is potential food poisoning...so don't have drinks with ice. And crossing the roads. The food is wonderful especially Rollies BBQ and there are many great cafes. The people are friendly and the city is very relaxed.
lots of Russian in Nha Trang because it were a Russian town , Soviet union to be more exact , so there were a lots of Ukrainians Belarusians ... and other Soviets there too. They lived in Nha Trang worked at Cam Ranh base , oil extractions and oil refineries in the area..ect.. in Vietnam we call them buses " quan tai bay" or ( flying coffins)
Too many scammers and thieves there. Me and my Vietnamese wife were even attacked with a knife but nobody cared. Crossing the street is dangerous as hell too, drivers don’t care about people on sidewalks.
No matter how hard they try to beautify the city, the mindset of indiscriminate littering, scam and steal makes Vietnam a third world slum forever. It runs deep in the Vietnamese blood. I’m Vietnamese and it’s a shame to admit it.
