New rules x are you that somebody, Come along, Love again (orig), Bohemian rhapsody, Hallelujah.. There are so many good ones and they just keep getting better 🤩
Great reaction. This performance won them their first (of three, so far) Grammy"s. It put them on the map, and showed the music world that a Capella could be so much more. Can't wait for your next reaction. Thanks.
I think you said a name at the end when Avi (the bass in this video) mentioned "Run to You", so you might think it's another cover. Their "Run to You" is actually an original by them with a five part harmony that is absolutely haunting and beautiful. I highly recommend it. :)
PTX always brings Great energy! They are several good acappella groups but no one does it like PTX. Fun jamming with you on this one! Their cover of Imagine is full of harmony and very moving. Another fast one is Can’t Hold Us. Enjoy the ride!
Crazy fact about this video: It was filmed in Avi's closet and the audio was recorded in his kitchen on a $400 dollar budget. It was edited on his laptop and won them their first grammy
Back in 2011, when they were on (and won) season 3 of the Sing Off, they performed Born to Be Wild by Steppenwolf. They're young and still developing their sound, but it is still so worth listening to. I also really like their original works like Cracked and Happy Now.
PTX is amazing. It’s hard to go wrong with any of their covers or original songs (or live performances). What do you get when five fabulous performers put ego aside and put it all out there to create magic? PTX.
That intro is fucking cool man. Well done! Pentatonix is an incredible group and I love watching reactions to them. I think my addiction to it is because I watched them grow from a group of kids singing on a couch to a group of kids winning grammy after grammy. They are such personable people as well as humble and super talented. They don't lie to their fans and always put in 100% in what they do. It's fun to watch others go through the same journey that we did over the years I suppose. My best recommendation for them is their song called "La La Latch". By the way, they always get better.
Would love to see more Pentatonix. Great reaction! Please watch the older covers and originals first. That way you can see where they started and where they came from. Avi Kaplan (the bass with cornrows in this video) was with them for over six years and left on good terms. He helped them get Matt Sallee as his replacement. Avi now has a solo career. Three members, Scot Hoying, Mitch Grassi and Kirsten Maldonado, grew up together in Texas. Scott wanted to compete on a singing show called the Sing-Off. They needed a bass and beat boxer so 24 hours before the competition began the band all met for the first time and they took first place. Avi was a friend of a friend with a great reputation and a major in opera. Scott found Kevin Olusola on youtube playing his cello and beat boxing. Avi and Kevin were coined the "meat and potatoes" of the band by one of the judges on the sing-off. This band was meant to be and they are off the charts talented. Daft Punk won them their first Grammy and was created in Avi and Kevin's apartment for about $400. Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy is the second Grammy. The third is Jolene with Dolly Pardon. Please watch Imagine(John Lennon cover), Bohemian Rhapsody(Queen), Love Again(written by Avi and Kevin)and of course Hallelujah. The Hallelujah video has almost 600 million views. It would be cool to watch the video and follow it up with the live version from the Christmas Special 2016. You will not regret it. thanks for the reaction!
Great reaction! I just subscribed, I'm a "Pentaholic," and we love to hear reactions to their awesome songs. This was filmed in a closet, for $400, won their 1st Grammy. Good choice ! Do try their cover of Kiiara's GOLD. Their new album comes out in 2 weeks, The Lucky Ones.
I really loved your reaction. But, I would love to see you WATCH the intricacies of the hard work put into this masterpiece. I know! I know! It’s so hard to sit still or just sit back with closed eyes an melt into a puddle with some of the songs. I get it!! Again, your reaction was priceless and I will stick around for more reactions. Great job!! #pentaholic I know this was a year ago!!
So happy this popped up in my recommended because I must've forgot to sub after seeing your "Sound of Silence" reaction! Fixed that! Yes, more PTX, yes would like to see you do a drum cover. I can't wait (like MANY Pentaholics) to see you react to "Bohemian Rhapsody!" You are about to go on quite a journey and we are here for it. You probably have a MILLION comments already with the raw 'data' of the group so I'll leave that to the "professionals". I would suggest that maybe do a series of reactions on their 'origin story' on the "Sing Off" tv show. It was 10 years ago and in that you will see not only how far they have come but to see the level where they STARTED and improved week after week until winning it all! Miles above other groups. Keep them coming...if you are this enthusiastic about THIS one - hold on to your hat boy!!!
Fuck Yeah Cassie!!! Pentatonix got me going all crazy! \m/ Can not wait to do more reactions, they are so talented and great to react too. Bohemian Rhapsody is up next!
I've never been a Daft Punk fan, but if anything were going to make them care about their music, this would be it. The performance on this medley is _amazing_ and the video production quality is top notch. I love it.
Love that you’re discovering this group. I’d love to see you watch & evaluate the music videos as well, as I truly believe that you would appreciate the work that they have put into their creative vision. You miss a great deal jamming & jumping around, although I don’t blame you in the slightest. When I first heard them I couldn’t focus on the videos at all, because I was still trying to process what I was hearing.
Pentatonix is so damned good that each and every song you hear them do is the best damned song you have ever heard them do, even if you don't really care for the song itself! It's weird.
1. Pentaholics are the BEST fans in the world 2. if you keep doing more PTX vids, your subs will sky rocket 3. They won their 1st Grammy for this song 4. You'll hear the same comments from Pentaholics but that's who you learn 5. Pentaholics are the BEST fans in the world, lol 6. there are other a capella groups but PTX is by far the most outstanding!!! 7. MORE PTX, PTX, PTX!!!
Group: Home Free (5 man acapella) - First song to hear: End of the Road (by Boyz II Men) then Ring of Fire. These guys are talented , nice people...like Pentatonix.
$400And a kitchen to film it and a closet to record it Earn you a Grammy award. Their cover of madworld is also very good. Even though it's past Christmas merry did you know is really good as is Amazing grace
Check out Lindsey Stirling. They call her the dancing violinist. She is amazing and has even done a few collabs with Pentatonix. Also great dance moves 👍
Just some background information on the "skyrocketing production costs". Scott Hoying (the tall blond guy who sings the baritone) said this song was recorded in a bedroom closet and filmed in a kitchen (and he meant this seriously). He said this on stage in his acceptance speech after Pentatonx won a Grammy for this medley in 2015.
Subscribed for more Ptx so you can count me as one of the ten thousand! :) New Rules x Are you that somebody is my favorite. They’re all incredible but other favorites are cheerleader, Havana, or any of their Evolutions. Enjoy the ride!
They have a bunch of good ones out. Just shear beauty...Mary, Did you know. Laugh your butt off....Mr Grinch. Before it gets too far away and completely unique.....The 12 Days of Christmas. Hear Kirsten absolutely "slam it" .....Amazing Grace (seat belts required)
Do yourself a favor a listen to KO’s cover of down so you see what he can really do! More PTX please. Literally any song choice is a good one! Love your reacts!
There are 3 acapella groups on You Tube that are the best of the best. Home Free, Voice Play, and PTX. PTX is head and shoulders above the other two, but Geoff of Voice Play and Tim of Home Free add something special to those groups. You should check out Home Free's "Ring of Fire - Featuring Avi Kaplan". Avi Kaplan was the bass singer for PTX in this video. Avi left the group in 2017 and replaced by Matt who is a great bass singer, not as good as Avi, but he is really good. Matt was in the "Sound of Silence" video you already reacted to. If you want to be a Pentaholic, you have to learn their names: Scott Hoying: Tall blonde guy, sings baritone. However, he has an incredible range and can sing both bass and tenor. Mitch Grassi: Smallest male in the group. Sings countertenor. Also has an incredible range. Changes his appearance several times over the years, but has been there since the beginning. He is the countertenor and the best singer in the group. Avi Kaplan: Looks like Jesus. Sings bass. Left the group in 2017. He is also an amazing talent, I could go on and on, but I want to keep this respectfully as short as possible. Let's just say, PTX has not won a Grammy since Avi left. They won 3 Grammy's, one each of Avi last 3 years with the group. Matt Sallee: Sings bass, took over for Avi in 2017. Kirsten Maldonado: Only female in the group. Sings Mezzo Soprano. Has changed her appearance many times over the years. Has been the only female singer in the group since the beginning. Kevin (KO) Olusola: Beatboxer, cellist, tenor, and god only knows what else. The most talented member of the group. He may not be the best singer, but he has more musical talent then the rest of them combined.
If you like how they look here, check out their original "Run to You". They won their first Grammy for Daft Punk. Here is what it looked like from Scott's sister's place. ruclips.net/video/2BNaVcMMJvM/видео.html
Voiceplay. Check them out. Their bass guy will blow your fucking mind. He’s insaaaaanely low and hits notes from deep in the bowels of Hell. Crazy range. Oh hey... Ten Second Songs channel! Not Acapella, but if you don’t know his stuff, you’ll become a fan real quick! Trust me. 😎
OK I’m definitely going to take your journey with you. You’re just the right amount of crazy (compliment) to fit into my world. I’ve been told that every comment helps your channel. So I’ll probably be leaving one on each video I watch. Even if it’s just to say hi. Let me know if it gets irritating. I really don’t expect you responding to them, just want to help. Oh also, Greetings from Southern California. 👋🏼
Actually, this is a video so I want to see you WATCH the VIDEO. If you just want to listen you can do reactions to radio or audio recordings. The idea is to see what the performers do and all the time spent not watching the effort they put in to entertain is telling them you don't care what they did. If you want to just listen later go ahead but while I watch reactors I want to see them react to audio and video
Me personally, I enjoy watching people actually enjoy the song. He clearly showed that he was super into it and he wanted to express that. Would you prefer he sat still and stared at the screen the entire time? Nothing wrong with moving and dancing and having a good time while listening to the song.
@@liadelrio1091 He spends most of his time dancing around and not looking at the VIDEO and talking over a LOT of the audio. I am fine with a reactor pausing to talk as much as they want but he spends a lot of time talking while the video keeps going.
If you want more Pentatonix. Smash the subscribe button like it owes you money and hit the like button! let's go!!! \m/
Rock on lad! ✊🤘

Just so you know, they can also rap. Check out Can't Hold Us cover.
Also problem, starships, sing, thriftshop.
Problem too! That's my favorite song with Mitch rapping
Can't Hold Us is still one of my all time favorite Pentatonix covers.
(Problem) is better imo
it amazes me people never have heard this, i've listened to it 1,000,000,000 times.
wait til you see their cover of Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody.

Home free is a country a cappella that is pretty great too. They are unbelievable, PTX is the best. Bohemian Rapsody is a banger🎶🎶🎶💕💕💕
Was just about to say “who gon tell him about home free” but home free man of constant sorrow
I LOVE Home Free too! Such talented folks. I miss Avi, though.

@@ueliriegg You are correct!
Listened to LaLa Latch this morning! Now I'm thinking that was their best song! It kinda works that way with all their songs!
NJ: It ain't gonna get much better than this.

@@liadelrio1091 He spends most of his time dancing around and not looking at the VIDEO and talking over a LOT of the audio. I am fine with a reactor pausing to talk as much as they want but he spends a lot of time talking while the video keeps going.
