    This is absolutely the BEST demonstration of how to create a panel hexagon art quilt. I have watched several, since I currently have a panel on my design board that is surrounded by completed hexagons. Thank you for your wonderful instruction.

    Your fabric is great. I like the explanations. I loved the idea about not cutting off the dog ears ahead of tike. My one critique is the music is distracting. I don't think you needed background noise (as yes, I consider it noise, not music) at all.

    What a vibrant cool method of matching seams & I have Best Press but forget to use it. I just cut 2 stacks of 8 repeats octagon, because I have a 40 degree petal ruler instead of triangle 🔺️ and have always wanted to use it. It makes a scallop around outside. Not sure if I'll do a lap quilt or table runner. It would make a beautiful tablecloth. Thanks for your patience.😁🤗

    Love the shelf liner and mole skin ideas. How did you decide on 2 3/4” strips?

    • @GypsyDreamerQuilts
      @GypsyDreamerQuilts Год назад +1

      Sorry for the long delay in answering your question! I just stumbled upon the comments on the original video posting. :-) I like smaller triangles/hexies as they're easier to design with. For some fabrics, if the repeat is divisible by 3, I could end up with duplicate cuts, so I always try to be off by a quarter inch. I try to get the most out of my panels, so cutting strips to get the most strips with the least left over is how we approach it. Liz

    Learned a few new cutting tips. Have you ever had a panel you cut vertically? Good tutorial.

    • @GypsyDreamerQuilts
      @GypsyDreamerQuilts Год назад

      Only a couple have been cut vertically because of design elements in the panel. For some panels that have more linear designs, we've even made an initial cut at 45 degrees and then cut the strips & triangle sets. They require more Best Press/starch as all 3 sides will be bias.

      The Timeless Treasures staff added the music when they edited my video clips together. To be honest, it bugs me too! If you watch any of my others, there's no music or very quiet if it's on in the other room. :-) Liz I'm on RUclips with my own channel gypsydreamerquilts

    Excellent tutorial! I bought the book for this and found it somewhat confusing, so glad I found your video. I do have to agree with some of the other comments, the music was annoying and way too loud compared to your voice. If there’s any way to tone down the music volume down, that would make this tutorial even better. Thank you!

    • @GypsyDreamerQuilts
      @GypsyDreamerQuilts Год назад +1

      This video was made without any music on my end. The music was added by the Timeless Treasures video editor as they compiled my process videos into the edited single video. I personally agree with you, but had no control on the finishing end. Thanks for the feedback!
