Probably my favorite ff character. Vivi is the perfect character to encapsulate the story and Final Fantasy IX's themes of existentialism while still being a positive and brave boy. There was so much heart put into his character and story.
Vivi has become one of my favorite characters in RPGs. Ever since I arrived at Dali I was committed to seeing his story till the end. I don't wanna say too much, but I loved his character so much that his letter left me in tears at the end 🥲 Also the implications of his legacy and future is very interesting and still rumored and debated today 🤔
Vivi is one of my favorite characters from the Final Fantasy universe. He is so lovable, yet SO powerful! When the remake happens, if the make it voice acted, he needs top talent! He deserves it.
Final Fantasy IX my favourite game still after all this time, Vivi might not quite be my most fav character from the game but certainly up there. The game even helped me get over my fear of death and beyond. Absolutely great video Erek you earned yourself a like and sub and hopefully many follow!
Another SPOILER thing I thought about Vivi... I read online some theories about his fate and some say the sons we see at the end could potentially be the Genomes from the Village who he inspired and stuck by till he passed away. Since he inspired them to live life to the fullest they dress up as him to honor his legacy. Also another thing is I love how his motif is heard in his own theme and the song Fleeting Life. But then Black Mage Village combines both melodies 👌🏽
Just the thought of knowing that you only have a year to live a whole life would unreal. Vivi makes the best of it and it is a such character building aspect!
Yup, love these styles of videos. I will always be up for a good tier list, but breaking down specific characters is always a ton of fun too. Vivi is super popular for a reason. This was a great analysis.
Yeah tier lists are good but I’m not even sure what I could do aside from ranking characters per game. And truthfully I don’t really like those kinds of videos 🤣 But I love exploring the lore of individual characters so I’ll probably add these types of videos to the roster here now. My favourite game of all time! I love the paralells between the main cast as they come to question their identity, and struggle to find out who they really are. The whole cast is fantastic, but i will say that Steiner's arc is criminally underrated.

Such a poignant examination of existential dread and mortality. That Vivi can show kids how to learn, love, and embrace life; not in spite of, but BECAUSE OF its finite nature…it’s amazing. Anyone who still can’t appreciate games as art is either woefully ignorant or just broken inside 😢
He is insecure and scared, thats 2 characteristics that people show compassion and that is so lovable, the true is that all characters got something to teach us and they all grow as characters throughout the story, not just vivi.
